Version .954 Changes

Hopefully this won't degenerate into an antagonistic discussion of economic system gameplay considerations, though of course discussion is welcome.

I'll start off the thread with:

I notice that the version number is different by +.001.
Fixes in this version include:
- Video memory is now freed properly.
- Fixed various crashes related to removal of parties.
- Several problems related to strategical AI corrected.
- Caravans now travel to trade route destinations correctly.
- Troops should no longer spawn at trees.
- Various other changes and fixes.

Fixes in version 953 were:
- Crashes related to parties being removed solved.
- Character portraits in notes window fixed
- Bug fixed which resulted in strange behavior in spawning new troops in arenas and some other scenes
- Fixed incomplete shadows in towns
- Various balancing fixes.
So anything else you notice, feel free to post.  Maybe I'll even maintain them at the top.

Note - if you post bugs here, please ALSO report them in the bug forum.

.954 is bugged, don't bother. The first thing you do after making a PC is usually pressing 'I'. Then you get a load of error messages, and from there, text messages won't work. No combat info etc.

When you place your cursor over any item you receive 8 text error messages. They flood the message board so you can't see any other messages.

Please report bugs in the bug forum.  Also, full installer always is more reliable than upgrade.
After I experienced that bug (which only happened once), I could see combat messages fine as well as other text...

@18Zulukiller:  Kind of comment this thread is not for.

Replicated.  Again, please post any bugs in the bug forum.

DON'T repost in the bug forum, I've already posted a lot of details about it, in big, bold, blue text

I noticed that allied Lords now help each other even when outnumbered. 150+ Nords were fighting 40+ Rhodocks, and another 40+ Rhodok party joined the battle to help instead of running away!

That sounds good, but do they actually appear on the battlefield with you ? Or do they just wait until you have used up all your reinforcements from your own party then run away at the point where your character is the only person left and gets taken prisoner - which seems to be as far as reinforcement has worked for me so far

That sounds good, although 80 is still about 50% percent of the enemy and thus still wise to retreat from.

I wasn't involved in the battle. I observed it.

'Kill Looters' quest changed.  Now you just kill the looters, but you don't have to return the stolen goods.  Better this way, IMO.

Anyone else having this problem?

I installed .954, and my launch menu says it's .954. But when I start the game it says .953.

I notice this version is compatible with my .953 saves!  I've only been around since .950 and haven't seen that before.

Yeah, it happens to me too.

40 + 40 = 80 vs 150
But that is good.. Because if they ran away rather than helping then the next party of 80 to come along would also run away rather than helping because 80 + 40 = 120 vs 150 which is still bad odds.

But if the first party of 40 joins then the next party of 80 also joins then we have 40 + 40 + 80 = 160 vs 150 which gives them a very good chance that they would never get if each party just looked at whether their force alone would be enough to even the odds.
