It's simple really, the devs have chosen everything possible to lower the learning curve for new players, thus knowingly sacrificing realism and complexities.

The overheadstab before this patch was too overpowered and easy to do and enabled the more experienced players to take advantage of the more unexperienced players, hell I killed 20 enemies on my own and 70% of those kills were overheadstabs. However, I do agree with those unhappy with the patch because they feel like the developers have "Dumbed" the game down. Remember that the makers of this DLC is one of us and they do listen to what everyone say. I would suggest you just make the overheadstab just a little faster, but not to such an extent like it was in the 1.005 patch. You will still be able to block pretty easily, which means that you can not spam overheadstabs. I think everyone would be happy if that was done. Other then that it is just the shadowreach on swords and shovels(yes I said shovels) that should be fixed.

But still the up attacks need to be put back the melee needs to be the way it was always.

As you can probably tell from the votes that have been sent in so far, the community is just about split equally into two halves. Neither side will be happy and you will never please both. Liking the old melee does not make you selfish or anything. Liking the new melee is the same. But liking either one will have problems. Liking the new one means that most of the players that have invested hundreds and even a thousand hours (such as myself) will never have the same hold on the module again. Although you can practice to attempt to become better with it, it will never be the same. Also in the future I'm pretty sure they are gonna end up nerfing the horse units. People will begin to complain and the devs will have to listen. Face it you will never be able to satisfy the whole community. In my opinion if you cant bring back the old melee (which I prefer) at least meet us halfway. So both sides will at least have a small amount of satisfaction.
