Version 0.772 Released!

Users who are viewing this thread

I think it's hard for anyone to give a specific number at this point because we still haven't decided exactly which features will make 0.7 and which won't, but you can still tell by the In-Progress list that we have some pretty ambitious changes planned for 0.7. I don't think 5 new factions falls under 'minor tweaks'

To the Moderators: How much, on a scale of 1-10, (1= minor tweaks, 10=like a new game), do you think 0.7 will be to Perisno?
How different will Galwe feel compared to other towns and will the quests play a far greater RPG aspect in the game. As for the Realm of the Falcon, will there be a small "quest-line" into the faction being revealed to the player/Perisno, or is that dealt with in the lore?
Will it feel like a large expansion?
Sorry if im unclear, and thanks for all your hard effort.
Not all members of the team are moderators, firstly.

Anyway, to answer your question, it is hard to tell at the moment, as Abot said. If I was to make a wild uneducated guess, I would say a 6, but again, it is way to early to tell, so by no means is that anything to go by.

There might be some hints in the game as where it is located and what's
going on there. A lot of it is indeed explained within the lore as how it came
to the split from Redwood and how they became independent. The interesting
aspect the Realm will be adding is that they're more peaceful than other
kingdoms. A remote, save place for the player to spend some time (and aurums)
so to say. They will be incredibly powerful although and because they're rather small.

Thanks for the info. What i took from that is that they won't be immediately accessible to the player, right? i.e. you can't "GO to Falconhall with a caravan" from character creation of just run there first thing... And thanks to Abot and DarkRobin for their responses.
p.s. the last time i played, the player could not start at the Valahir area from character creation. Is this meant to be? Just thought i would mention it asa possible detail that slipped under the radar.
Thanks

No, you won't be able to start a new game from the Falconhall.
Yes, it is meant to be that the player could also not start in Valahir.
In 0.7 there will most likely be a completely different game start so you might not start at most of the current cities at all.

Thanks Michadr, good to have that confirmed. Really pleased to have a new start, got very boring. It seems that the Realm of the Falcon wil be a "noldor"-like faction from Prophesy of Pendor then. Brilliant. Thanks for the quick response.

I don't know about the Noldor and didn't when I created the idea.
If it means that they're peaceful and powerful then...yes.
Also they will be powerful not because of their stats but mostly
because of their gear. Horsetrade made them rich. That's why.

Noldor is an elven faction in PoP. They are powerful, but maybe not that peaceful.

elven MINOR faction  . Anyway, back on topic, the Weapons, armour and other items have been in the process of being rebalanced for about two weeks - expect most items to be quite a lot different in 0.7 than they are currently.

Okay, so will this faction have a build-up to it due to their uniqueness? In Prophesy, you had to increase your relations from -20 to 15 then defeat a large army near their capital. ONLY then could you full interact with them. WIll there be a version of this in that the player must undergo an "adventure" to gain access. Or is it secret until release?
Thanks

Well, if you take a look at their lore, you'd see that that wouldn't make too much sense,
simply because they are known to be peaceful and to respect all human beings. Assuming
that all that come to their territory are enemies would be the opposite of their philosophy.
In fact they profited a lot from immigration as it brought an influx of knowledge and skill.
They had never grown into an independent Aristocracy so fast without it.
So, no you can interact with them freely, but their recruits might be a little bit...expensive!

When playing PoP I always wanted to join Noldor, but since they were a minor faction I could of course not get any more than cooperation.
Until now I have seen the Bluewood as the closest equivalent, but they are quite aggressive, which I didn't see Noldor as (they were just patrolling their area to fend off invaders).
Seems like RF in Perisno will finally enable me to do something like joining a high level elven faction I actually like all the way (policies, lore, etc).

Also...because of the number of immigrants they are quite a mixture although
still mostly elvish, but they do not have the same mali on their HP. That should
make them quite a challenge on the field, also considering their bows at the
end of the trooptree...

Redwood and Bluewood are both very aggressive, close minded and brutal. We don't fancy Elves in Perisno being pure and lighthearted at all because of the fact that naivety does not win wars and to a very "arrogant" and "powerful" race, seizing Perisno is much more important of an objective.

You will see in the future that every faction has their dark side. We're still innervating the lore.
Obvious ones you will probably see in 0.7 is from the unique trait of each factions in a new feature we're developing.

So each faction will have their own advantage and certain mechanic for the player to use. Nothing else to say right now but let just say it's going to make your choice of faction much more interesting.

Doesnt matter if Elvarie have a "Dark Side" Habeo, the Bluewoods shall conquer the deceitful Redwoods and conquer Perisno!

What if we Bluewoods and Illicans make an nice little alliance
I will stop right here, but Illican is a little weary of anything with bows really. You know how the bird flies and the hunter hunts.

Ah I See. On the note of minor faction relations, will any of the major minor factions have big interactions or quests to do with each other later?
