Version 0.710 is out!

Users who are viewing this thread

Hi All,

Version 0.710 is finally out. I was planning to make this version compatible with older savegames but unfortunately I screwed up at some point, so you will need to restart your game if you install this version. Anyway, I hope the new features will at least make up for that a bit:
  • Fixes to AI, NPCs can dismount when they can not get to the enemy on horseback
  • Fixed glitch with hand and glove models.
  • Shields now have speed rating, and it takes a moment for blocking to become effective.
  • Made hitbox slightly smaller.
  • Blood!!!
(To disable blood, edit the configuration script and remove the line with the "enable_blood" directive)
  • Added option to control Attack direction by mouse movement.
  • Added option to control Defend direction by mouse movement.
  • 64-bit Windows support.
  • Each point of intelligence gives one skill point again.
  • Other small bug-fixes

There are also quite a few changes to the module system. I'll post those in a seperate thread in the mod discussion forum.

I want to thank everyone who contributed to the new version, all the forum members for their suggestions, feedback and support, the wonderful mod authors and the mod tools developers, and our dear site admins. Thank you all for making the development of this game so much fun.

Now, without further ado, here are the download links

As a long time lurker, first time poster, I'd just like to say thanks, Armagan!

This is a wonderful game. I started playing & registered back at 0.703, but it keeps getting better.

I've just been trying out the latest version without cheats, it's been a fun experience.

The blood option seems to stain other body locations with a lovely red look, not too much, not too little.

Marvellous.

I'm also looking forwards to AncientWanker making his LotR mod compatible with the new version, although I'll be lost in unMod'ed M&B for a good couple of weeks.

In two minutes of playing, I noticed two things that make me happy:
1) Is there a new light shading thingamabob? It seems less bright and sharp--I like it!

2) New textures for the shields in the arena (different handles on them, right?).

Will keep looking for more. Great job armagan! (I'll get you a copy of that paper once I get a grade on it--professor lost the first copy I gave her. )

Thanks for all the nice comments!

Meister Katzhandler: Welcome to the forums. I'm very happy you find the blood "not too much, not too little". I did waste a few good hours (and a horde of unlucky river pirates) trying to get it right.

Stonewall382: Yep. I improved the lighting model (and added a second skylight) and ipek made some fancy shield straps.

Oh! That's the other thing! I saw some of the new AI already too! (A horse archer *whispers* dismounted!!) (So did a guy with a lance, which seems dumb, BUT he was trapped between a horse and an enemy, so it really wasn't. Cool deal.)

THIS IS JUST AWESOME!!
my suggestion with the attack directions actually is in!!!  hurray!

Tell me armagan, where did you get the inspiration of the suggestion??

LOL, well I was the first one to suggest that one

The mouse directed attacking? Hah, I suggested it before you had joined, and I bet someone mentioned it before I did.

EDIT: I have t3h pr00f!!! http://forums.taleworlds.com/viewtopic.php?t=808&start=0
