AI shield/lance horsemen don't ever block while on horse, and their shields don't show up (they do have them though - if you knock them off horse, they'll use it.)

Lances can hit almost immediately. I've parried a lance and then tried to hit with a 1h sword (in the arena) and I get hit first because the lance's poke makes contact with me instantly, even though the normal swing animation takes a long time.

If I alt tab, my mouse in game disappears. Alt tabbing out again fixes.

My mouse cursor has a tiny "D3D" in small font on it.

Can't shoot right at all on horseback? Several serious horse archery aiming problems immediately obvious.

Friendly AI horses will often run into you and interrupt your swing somehow.

If you try to block an enemy horse, after it stops because it hit you, it will magically start accelerating through you.

If you get hit by a horse in mid swing you get stuck in the 'power up for swing' animation graphically. Fixes if you swing.

This is intentional. You can't draw your right arm back when you're twisted to the right. Try it.

I've noticed this too. Did it just appear with the new patch? Sometimes it doesn't seem to happen, though.

Lances can hit almost immediately.

I think what happens is that the lance's swing animation gets interrupted when you block it, so it can almost immediately attack again. And since it's just poking forward, instead of swinging from the side, it's going to hit faster than a sword stroke, even if it takes longer for the entire attack animation to complete. I'm not completely sure about this, but I seem to be able to beat opponents one on one when I have a lance and they have something fast, like a sword. This is the only explanation I can think of.

on the note of shooting to the right.... i wonder if we will get to see a selectable heavy hand... so we can have left handed swordsmen... and left handed archers.... thereby letting them shoot from the right and NOT from the left on horseback

just for a change of pace

I am very left-handed, so of course i vote for this, d'uh

Perhaps the problem is that, at least in reality, left-handed fighters have a (slight) advantage against the others... all their moves are inverted, while they are used to fighting right-handed men.
