I found out about M&B through Valandil as well. Check out the Hoplites mod while you're at it(not Troy . )

Hey, I'm the Weapon Modeller at Valandil, I also found out about M&B from our forums (and subsiquently played it for about 2 hours before buying it ).

We don't have a Public beta out yet, but we have a internal alpha that is semi-playable. We're getting there. Only thing you can do is check for news and media updates and enjoy M&B.

Heck, the only reason I bought HL1 was for the Day of Defeat Mod

looks like i'm the only one that found both games independantly . Found Valandil indirectly off one of the Steam update messages talking about HL2 mods, and M&B off a link in some forums while searching on google for free RPGs (because i spent all my food on monkey food and twisty ties )

I used to play Pirates, Vikings & Knights. That's a Half-Life(1) mod. It was pretty funny, too bad not many people played it.

When I buy a new computer, I definately have to buy HL2 now

Valandil seems interesting enough, but PVK2 will be more fun, I reckon. Not due to any lack of quality on the Valandil team's part (the models and art they've produced are excellent!), but because I'm biased towards zany games. Valandil's realism just kinda turns me away, because a realistic game online means that everyone will simply whore the most effective weapon. Oh, and I'm biased, 'cus I'm a beta tester for pvkii.

I'm an Armourer myself, I've only made a Roman Lorica Segmentata and some accompanying greaves so far, but I'm working on making one of the concept suits for Valandil, all I have left to do on the patterns are the lower arm cannons, greaves and sabatons. I'll probably do a few afterwards too.

Indeed - I did not. I suppose I simply did not even expect a necro of this magnitude. Four years - damn.
Obviously the mod is dead now - shame, since I have HL2.
