Skanky Burns
Recruit
As first pointed out by okiN in this thread, there are some missions the Vaegir or Swandian nobles give us that are just impossible to finish. If the raiders get killed before you have a chance to do the honours, then the mission is impossible to finish and equally impossible to fail. There are no raiders to attack nor are there raiders to safely make it back to their home.
For other missions, you may not want to do it. Bring him 16 courser horses? Hmmm, I'd prefer not to. Capture 4 Swandian Knights? Tempting, but no.
Therefore I propose that missions given by Vaegir or Swandian lords automatically fail after a set period of time, say a month game-time. From a role-playing point of view, it is unlikely that the lord would still be waiting on his horses a month later, and any information captured enemies could give would not be as useful by the time you did actually complete the mission. The lord's needs would have changed by then. From a gameplay point of view, it allows the tidying up of missions the player, for whatever reason, did not manage to complete.
Finally, it is likely to be easily implemented. The day a mission was given to you is already stored by the program, it would be a simple matter to check it was not given over 30 days ago.
