(v0.632) Arrows wont release in close distance

I used to have a problem with the bow. As a enemy gets close, when i release the arrow, i do not see any arrow on the guy's body. Initially i thought it was my fault that i aimed too high or the reticle was inaccurate.

However, this time i tried to test it. There was a bandit in front of me at about a 2handed sword range. When i shot him, nothing came up. Ok, so i though my fault again. Then i backpeddle until the same range. I fired again, and nothing came out again. I proceeded to fire close to 30 times at him. Not only there are no arrows stuck to him or his shield, the ground was clean too.

I concluded that nothing came out of the bow in the first place. I'm not sure why it is so, maybe to discourage close range shooting, but its rather unfair (since archers only got a chance against the almighty shields when the sissy attacks) not to mention unrealistic.

It happens something similar even when using xbows. If you're too near the dart goes *through* your foe leaving him unscathed and then disappearing (no 0 damage, simply a miss).

I'm not sure about xbows, but i didnt see any arrows behind the guys i shoot. For thrown weapons, even close range they will still work.

Ive never noticed that , i love running up and shooting people in the eyes and neck heh (im a sick barstard ;p)

But they always work , it might only happen on slower computers.

It does. Sometimes aiming higher than usual helps.

Happens to me too. It makes sense though, i dont think you can fire arrows at zero distance. Maybe crossbows should be able though.
