Armagan just told me the disband troops crash will be fixed very soon, so we're in business!

The latest version is now available for open testing.

Added features:

  • Heroes now can select a specific weapon type to auto-loot for EACH of their 4 slots. Yeah, you can make Carlos collect 4 stacks of throwing weapons, that kind of crazy thing.
  • Fully CUSTOMIZABLE regular troop line (Rangers). Talk to the Ranger Master in Zendar. You can fully customize the gear of these guys by talking to them. Subject to level limits (e.g. only high level rangers can choose to wear heavy armor).
  • Battle profiles expanded: Now you can select the type of melee weapon to bring into battle. NPC heroes and Rangers obey these commands. This and the mounted/unmounted ranged/no ranged options are selectable by RIGHT-CLICKING the player party menu, no need to talk to your troops to choose them (but you can if you want to).
  • Four Ways Inn item pool available: can get your wounded heroes to discard into the Inn's item store and then get your active members to auto-loot from it
  • New parties: Dark Knights, Awali, Black Khergits
  • Raptor's swords are back as unique random drops
  • New NPC hero: Werner, engineer and tactician.
  • Game options implemented: can select to turn off hero wounding etc.
  • Zendar chest now generates sunglasses (one per day if the chest is emptied). Wear it to look cool like me. Or not.
  • Shields don't have modifiers right now (to avoid a bug), but this will be fixed when the next M&B version comes out!
  • Heroes rebalanced to give more challenge.

Not sure if this is true but I haven't seen any dark forces attack any other parties than mine. + special weapons drop is working as it should and rangers rock.
 
The new parties are too uber to be at war with regular factions (they'd chew up war parties for breakfast twice a day), so they're not.
 
Don't put me in the thanks sinse I had exams this week and wasn't able to test. (at last I am honest)
 
just wondering, how exactly does getting special/unique weapons work? i havent come across any so far =/

Got me Durendal dancin' whith them dark devil knights Jimmy!! Many a good man I lost that day but plenty of loot fer us survivors. Arrr!!
 
Now that mounted archers listen to the comands, how do I tell them to run around an shoot? Did I oversee something or is there really just the option to stand still or to charge (wich means melee)?  :sad:

How do I tell them to ride around the enemy and shoot them? They always did that automatically (since they didn't listen to the commands), but now they stop moving when I tell them to (that's how it should be), and charging forces them to change to melee (wich also is like it should be). But I neither want them to stand still, nor to go into melee. I want them moving and shooting. What's the command for that?

Love ranger troops, they fit this mod completely.

Just got out of a skirmish with the Avengers with half my command dead and the other half wounded, just to fall in another fray with a whole new and fresh 75 men strong Avenger party which was patiently waiting its turn to whack the hell out of what was left of my men and yours truly.
Where is the balance in dedicating three uber forces (Avenger/Cultists, Black Khergits and Awalis) to the sole purpose of destroying a single force? Not even my allies are threatened by these guys. I say uber me asre! Let the other parties get chewed up too. At least that way we all have the same fighting chance.

That was the *****ing part, now for the begging: Please, pretty please fisheye. Make the bad boys dislike everyone again.

How slow are you to get caught by a 75-man party? Those guys should be sloooow. If you've got Rangers and mounted Heroes you should be way faster. Run away! Let me know if I need to slow them down more.

You have to be sharp with these guys prowling the land. Can't just click on a distant city and go for your cuppa tea. Part of the fun! Makes Spotting more useful too :smile:

I've already tried making them at war with the other parties and really didn't like it.
 
Aye they be slower than me granny carrying an anvil but the second party WAS waiting outside the blasted battle. Ok, keep everyone loving those, those....gentlemen. But don't come crying to me if they topple the swadians and start their own empire.  mmm, not a bad idea fer a wee BoW follow up.  :wink:

You can order them to follow you and spread out, then you can lead them to ride around the enemy. They will begain to shot when the enemy's in sight but will follow you around if you don't mind use a bow since you can't get near the enemy.
 
Where is the logic in disturbing mounted archers, if I don't have the chance to use that bought time, because I have to "lead" them around? That's weird. I don't want them to follow me, but to disturb enemy forces while I get in good position for battlefield advantages. I really hope there will be an extra command for them soon. They are completely useless now (archers shoot better and don't need horse archery; knights are more effective in close combat because they didn't waste their points to horse archery).

Oh, and stay on your line, fisheye  :grin:. It's fun to have some real challenge. Although I saw them spawning at the very beginning of day 1 close to zendar (lucke me, thay followed something else and ignored my party of 4 seconds old peasants), and that's not funny. But if they are really as slow as you claim, there shouldn't be a problem.
