(v.704) Unreadable Text

I've just dl'd and installed the .704 update today (yeah, kinda late) and when I run M&B now all of the text in the game is unreadable. The problem applies to absolutely all text: conversations, menu options, numbers, on the world map, not on the world map, stats, parties, combat messages, etc. It looks like a garbled mess, where sometimes recognizable parts of letters or numbers are visible, but overall it is completely unreadable.

As this doesn't affect the game launcher but only in game text I would wager it has something to do with how the letters are being rendered, though I've never had any problems with reading M&B since I got v0.632. Perhaps whatever source file is used for the font got corrupted durring the update, though this seems improbable. I haven't re-installed or tried the full v0.704 download yet, woulnd't mind hearing if anyone else encountered/fixed this problem first.

I haven't heard of this before, at least not that I remember.

After you do a full re-install (if you don't find another way, of course) ... post back here and update if it works.

If you have an ati graphics card, some of their drivers had some issues with rendering things like text for a while. It might be worth having a fiddle with your graphics quality settings / update your drivers.

Ok, re-installing didn't fix anything but updating my drivers did (and yeah, I got an aging ati). All the text displays properly now. It would never have occured to me to update the drivers though as the game worked fine with the old ones... learn something new everyday, I guess.
