Is there a way to access the object (agent/item/etc.) that is selected when the action key (F) is pressed?

I thought the action key is E... Whatever, what do you mean with "accessing" objects?

I'm pretty sure it's the F key...

Anyway, to give an example, when you walk up to someone to talk with them, you press the "action_key" (what ever it would be) to talk with them.  Is there any way to jump in before the dialog stuff kicks in?

Do you mean you want the unit to be selected by pressing the f key?

I need to run a script with the target agent of the key pressed known.

How about trigger it on attack? Or just when player steps on it. Both feasible. I don't know if those match the context though.

The target would be the agent the player press the action key on.  Same with attack, can you see who the agent is that you just hit (even if it was for 0 damage).  This would also have to be the case with ally/neutral agents.
