52 BC: Caius Iulius Caesar, the first roman emperor, is conquering Gallia. The Gaul barbarians have nothing against the disciplined, well trained and good equiped legionaries of the Roman empire. Alesia is the last town to be conquered before Caesar's victory...
The siege begins and it seems the Romans won't have any problems with the last Barbarians, but the Gauls have one chance left: A Gaul army that retreated from Lutetia after its siege with 50,000 men is on the way to Alesia! In the deep forests of Gallia the Roman scouts are not able to see the dimensoins of the Gaul army and Caesar is telled the wrong number: 10,000. He sends a third of his legions to fight against the Gauls, 20,000 men. They have no chance against the berserks... When the Roman commanders notice the danger, it's to late. At the same time, the Gaul garrison from Alesia, under lead of Vercingetorix, and the army from Lutetia attack. The Romans are sourrounded and slaughtered by the Barbarians soon. Gallia is free again! The left Roman legionaries, 5,000 men only, retreat to Italy. Caesar was wounded in the battle, but he survives, although only able to limp...
Now there is an area between Gallia and Italy that belongs to no one. Of course both Rome and Gallia want to conquer this area, but they are not the only ones... The Barbarians from north-east and the Spains from south-west are interested, too. On which side will you be? Will you support the all-mighty empire and the emperor Caius Iulius Caesar? Or will you become a dirty berserk that slaughters Romans with his rusty great axe? Or do you think the brave Spains, a nation with long traditions and quick and artful desert warriors deserve your help?
