hi all i'm fairly new to Mount & Blade - and i downloaded Proposy of Pendor about a week ago

i've got a good little warband going, but i've got a problem when it comes to upgrading the units - i have plenty of space left and the units are ready to upgrade, but it won't let me

You got too many different troops, no room for any more in the list.
Also possible, but his scrollbar doesn't look like that's the problem. This might just be that Native bug that crops up occasionally.

It happens the same thing to me, after a big battle, but after two midnights without problem upgrading other troops I could upgrade everybody, just wait or talk to a merchant as told before

Hello all,

You can have ONLY 32 different types of troops in your party.  This is a hard limit, part of the structure of the game.  When you reach a certain point you are prevented from creating a new troop slot for upgrades.

Note, when we say 32 slots, that includes each unique companion.  A single companion or 1000 Ravenstern Knights each occupy a single troop slot.

Hope that this helps,

Best,

Saxondragon

I've run into this before - either your scrollbar is messing up and you've hit the troop type limit, or you have a native bug that happens sometimes - again, passage of time and conversations with game npcs always seemed to fix it.

From what I can see of his scrollbar, he only has 15 slots used, so it could be the ghost party member bug from native

Holy ****! How did you get 119 million denars!?!?  even the cheat only does 1000 per click!

Heh.  Looks like someone hacked their savegame.

Note to the assembled populace-at-large:

We have no issue with you doing anything you want to do to your game.  Lowest difficulty?  Great.  Cheats?  Fine.  Tweaking exported characters?  No problem.

How you play your game is up to you.  If its fun, do it.

HOWEVER!

Please do not come to us with "bugs" if you're going to be tweaking/modding/butchering etc your game or saves.  Chances are we'll say, "um... stop doing that and try again" and move on to other issues.

Thanks!

I had a same problem once too, when I couldn't upgrade troops because it was saying my party is full.
I simply restarted the game and it solved the problem

well, yes i imported a character that i changed slightly - it's something i do in every game, cheat a little while i figure things out, and then replay for the challenge.

I wouldn't have thought that importing charcters possed much of a problem as it seems fairly built into the game...

and yes i only have the units shown - the scroll bar is correct, as i say i'm fairly new to Mount & Blade and wasn't aware of any bugs.

i was probably going to restart soon anyway as i'm beginning to get to grips with the mod, but thanks for the help

No problem, man.  I meant what I said.  We don't care what ya do to have fun.  I've been known to "bend the rules" a little myself.  However, the code in this mod has been changed SUBSTANTIALLY from Native.  That means that stuff that worked just fine in Native or other mods are likely to totally pooch this one.

I take it the problem has not gone away by restarting M&B?  In that case, it may be another mod or tweak you're running messing it up.  If you get the problem in your "clean" game, try doing a new install of M&B and see if the problem persists.

This problem also crops up when your castle is filled with too many different troops and you try to upgrade a new unit in your party. It won't be able to do it. Just hit tab and exit that screen and try again. or hit the wait button and then try again.

well a castle isn't the problem, since i don't own one.

I've restarted the game, i've got enought of a 'feel' now that i am confient (?) of going it alone, we'll see what happens this time around - though it may take me a while to earn that amount of cash - lol
