So I was having trouble with long load times and stuttering for no good reason, my rig is solid enough to run bannerlord on High. So I ordered some more RAM since that was my PC's only weak point. It arrived, I installed it and now the game runs smooth as butter.

With Steam running + Bannerlord I was sitting at around 9GB-10GB RAM in use. So all the lag makes even more sense in hindsight.

TLDR If you have 8GB consider upgrading to 16GB because the game uses a lot.

Hey there John, when you say "lag" do you mean mouse-input-lag (FPS are okay, but mouse freezes for a moment)? That is my major issue right now, but I didn't see a reason to upgrade RAM, because Task Manager shows a use of about 6GB when running Bannerlord with low settings on Windows 10.
Hail Taco King and stay healthy.

Yeah that sounds close to the kind of lag I was having. FPS was fine, but just a lot of stuttering and long load times.

I can't say for sure since everyones computer is different, but my pc uses 4GB just idling with a youtube video and Steam running.

I will say that RAM is super duper cheap like 40$ for 2x4GB stick on amazon (what I got).

Stay healthy!

If anyone that is thinking about upgrading, remember 1x8gb is going to be better than 2x4gb. just a heads up. drawing memory from one stick will always be better than two. i dont think people will need to upgrade after optimisation, but there is no harm.

Thanks for your replies, I will try a RAM upgrade, this is not the first thread suggesting it as a solution. The mouse-lag drives me crazy (especially in battles), and I litrally tried EVERYTHING else the last couple of days.
At least all the optimization I did led to a better overall performance of the game (and other games I guess), but the mouse is still lagging like hell. ?
Hopefully this will lead to less talking, more raiding! Have fun!

Hi guys, my Notebook has the Next settings: 4GB of vídeo with and Gtx1050, 8GB of Ram and an Intel i5 with win 10.

With almost many settings on mid and other options turn off i got 60 fps and a constant stuttering during siege and when the clash started in the battles. I notices and readed that 8GB was too low for this game.

Today I upgraded to 16 GB, and man the performance is awesome, the first Time of load and load of sound effects (during clashes in the battles) I get a very little stuttering, but after a first load/call of sound or textures, the game runs smooth, I could upgrade many settings to high and effects On and the game runs smooth with 60 fps, Man with 16GB is a game changer for me.

On task manager, windows says after some test of 10 mins that the total Ram usage is almost 9GB.
Conclusion, avoiding virtual memory use (hard disk) free many CPU usage that goes to the game performance.
