One thing which is really boring me is upgrading soldiers all the time (basically after every battle) and clicking the same buttons all over again. I think a button "upgrade all" or some popup which would list all updates so that I don't have to go through all of the troops would really improve the experience.

yeah especially when you have 16 different types of troops and theyre constantly leveling. the less amount of things that make the game seem like "work," the better

That is strange.
A solution could be to automatically upgrade all troops where there's only one option.
The player would then have to select all those where the troop trees branch out and personally select them.
I'm not sure how much that would help since there are many branches.

This is similar to what I described here: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/less-tedious-unit-upgrades.409805/

Basically, you need to account for the different troop branches, but I don't think once you have a system like upgrade all you'll want to make exceptions at branching points that would need to be manually selected. That would just shift the problem.

Instead, you should have a menu with your party layout and percentages of upgrades on a slider that you can decide on, and unit caps for all units that you can decide on. Then you could push "upgrade all" and your units would be upgraded according to the percentages (taking into account your overall unit count in the party) that you yourself have set.

Ideally you'd want to be able for this menu to also account for more units you gain in the future, so maybe it could be designed like the current party menu, but with a + tab under your current units where you can configure any party set-up you want by choosing from a list of all units and implementing them into the party design of your choosing.

But at the very least you shouldn't have to expand the tab of the unit you want to upgrade, as is the state right now.

You could define percentages 30% archers 60% infantry and 10% cavalry (3 sliders basically) for example and system does it automatically  this is really boring, just clicking through inventory.

Also it is really anoying to see a soldier with maxed out armor while I am running in robes  but that's another topic

Simplifying it like that would lead to other problems though. Say I want an army with only Vlandian Archers and Battanian Infantry, a system like that wouldn't be able to account for the different cultures and would upgrade some Vlandians to Infantry and some Battanians to Archers.

You'd really need to be able to have sliders for individual tier 5/6 units that can be made from their respective recruits, I fear.

This is definitely needed. It could be quite annoying when you have several types of troops that cannot be levelled up now and it keeps reminding you after battles
