One thing I noticed:
Champion Huscarl is not in the troop tree, heard someone forgot to add the upgrade... Wonder who it might be...

And what about the Village guard tree? Not much development in that tree.

Ok, fair enough, I guess that's why they were the backbone of my armies. Too easy hasn't entered into it yet (except for heavy cavalry) since I only started playing a couple of weeks ago. So begins the search for a new line infantry.

Sylvester depends on the numbers you use of course, but i personally try to not get too strong armies then the game kinda gets boring in my opinion, lets say you got 80 infantry... let 60 be medium rank 15 higher ranks and 5 the highest ranks, this creates an army that is strong but not op then give em promotions as higher up dies.

I dont know how you like to play tho but keeping balance makes it more fun! then you gotta do your best everytime you fight. Useing skilled warriors as backbone with huscarl support and a few berserkers or champion huscarls... then add some Archers/cavalry then you got a pretty decent backbone with good support that will give you a good time. Ive used troop editor to make huscarl champs only use 1h + shield so they are different than the Berserkers, and can be used as reliable shield wall against enemy fire.

Try it and tell me how you like it.

Elite units can only be recruited from towns. Specifically these are towns which you own and contain a special building.

The capital city of each faction will already contain one of these buildings, and you can build one more per faction in another faction town. They are expensive and take a long time to build, but they generate elite troops for the town and extra ones you can recruit.

List of capitals and their Elite buildings...

Khergit = Tulga, (can't remember what we called it, the Khergit Shed?)
Rhodok = Jelkala, Council Chambers
Vaegir = Reyvadin, Ivory Temple
Swadian = Praven, Cathedral
Nords = Sargoth, Halls of Glory
Sarranid = No idea, it'll be the one with elite units in the garrison. Can't remember what we ended up calling that one either.

Sorry to say, but... this troop tree seems no longer accurate or up-to-date for this version of NE. For instance, now the Swadian noble troop tree is just a line: Page -> Squire -> Knight -> Cavalier.

That's true, but then, this is an old thread for Mount & Blade NE that someone necroed. Some troops were pruned as they were irrelevant or not working as intended.

Dear all,

I am playing the native expansion v0.586 and found out that the Minor Councilman (a special troop for Rhodoks) does not have any weapon in hand when riding on a horseback. Long time ago, I found a thread dealing with this issue - by changing a parameter in the troops.txt file, but I am not sure. Do you possibly have an answer/thread for this issue?
