The Vaegirs are roughly a roughtly Rus/Nordic folk, right? So why do Vaegir knights look the same as the Swadians? -__-

Accordingly, I HAVE A SUGGESTION. (it's a picture, click the link)
As you can see, this fellow looks *different* than the Franko-Teutonic Swadians!

It wouldn't take that much to pull off -one, maybe two more armor items? What's that in the grand scheme of things? A conical helmet with a face-shield (ala the Sutton Hoo helmet -bascinet rating or better), a Kolontar -a byrne with those oh-so-typically russian integrated plates (call it equivalent or slightly better than the coat of plates), and equip him with a lance and sabre or a lance and high-level bow. Include any of the above armour bits/weapon combos on every given Vaegir knight, and Voila! We have an entirely different-looking chivalric class. :D

The Men-at-Arms and Vaegir Horsemen are worlds different -why shouldn't the knightly class be different, too? Well, it *ought* to be. We just need a bare minimum of different armor items to make a positive distinction.

*edit* darn it, my good link for the kolontar overloaded. You'll have to go HERE instead to get a good idea. Sorry. :)

Good pic, but if i remember the russian alphabet right, you wrote Vaigir in the pic.

(well ok, it can't be translated so directly. BTW, how should the bl letter be written as in western alphabet?)

edit: They do look different. Take a look at the peasants for example. Vaegirs have hide armor, Swadians have tunics. High level Vaegirs have Lamellar Cuirasses and Nordic Helms, Swadians have the Coat of Plates and Bascinets.

Nice picture.

I'd do away with the whole dark-knight armor class completely as it seems to out of place and add more Vaegir-style armor options.

I admit, that first picture looked kind of cool, but Vaegir and Swadian Knights already look pretty different to me. Every last Vaegir Knight has a chainmail hauberk, and a mixture of spiked and Nordic helmets. Hard to mix that up with a guy in full plate and a great helmet. The coat of plates also looks nothing like the armor typically favored by the Vaegir. And that's not even taking into account the weapons they use.
