Does anyone know if making the unused heroes/villains spawn at some arbitrary point in the world causes crashes? Say, for example, I use the editor to place 'ecatha the necromancer' at zendar center and I give him/her/it the hiring dialogue like in the recruit mod. Will the game crash when I go to zendar? Do I have to set something else to make it work? Or what if I change king harlaus' location to the thirsty lion instead of sargoth castle. Will he be there at the tavern? And will his conversation text be the same? I had some ideas for a mod where players can only hire heroes, but I need to be able to give lots of choice in heroes for that to happen.
Now that I think about it, this is a good time to ask if anyone even wants a mod like that. Basically, I would add a bunch of heroes skilled in various areas and disable all of the tavern keepers by setting their hire unit to null/none. That way, you would have to play using only the heroes scattered through the different towns.
