Need More Info Unplayable due to 1-120 second freezing in battle [1.4.2 beta]

Not as bad as in late 1.3 where the game froze for multiple minutes, gave 1 frame and froze again.

Just as disruptive since manual battle is too volatile - if the game freezez 15+ times in single battle, I'm not going to stare at frozen screen like sprinter in starting position.

This game is a mess optimization wise(huge mess) for now so i'd wait for full release if we are lucky to get a playable experience. If anything try moving the pagefile and the game to your ssd. Also keep an eye on your gpu vram since it might be getting fully used.

Sorry for your inconvenience. What is the battle size and the overall graphics options chosen? Are you entering from custom battle or campaign? What is your overall FPS and how much is the drop? Thanks in advance.

To clarify, it's not a frame drop. The game freezes altogether to 0FPS for period of from a second to a couple of minutes. Once the gameplay seemed to jump a few steps forward, but most freezes it stays within same frame.

Campaign, Army vs Army, 300 vs 600, 300 vs 130. The size doesn't seem to be a factor, that's why I got reminded of the 1.3 freezes, although now they happen at seemingly random moments and not just when units flee.
I don't recall if I experienced the drops fighting vs small groups of looters though as I only engaged two before downgrading to 1.4.1

Also, no mods affecting troops, no custom (multi object) banner. The only one I'm running right now is MBFastDialogue.

I'll see if it persists after downgrading from beta to stable, but it seems saves didn't survive the downgrade so it may take me a while to get a number/variety of fighters to trigger the issue. Will update this comment either way within the day.
edit: game unstable in current build on 1.4.1, even new save crashes immediately, so can't update on the freezes.

i'm seeing similar thing. During battle game simply freezes for 1-1,5 seconds - it gets really anoying after some time. Once battle froze for good at around 10 minute mark (my character was alive) then crashed to desktop. Started the same battle again, this time i've died after couple minutes but then at 10 minutes mark massive freeze happened but game did not crash - after a minute or so, it started to continue at rate 4 fps.
Also size doesn' t matter (no phun intended) - same happens if i just kite band of 15 looters, same with 1000vs1000 army.

EDIT: It happens after longer gameplay, i mean today started occuring after about 2 hours.

Can you re-create the issue just after getting into the campaign? Or is this more frequent after a long gameplay? Also, can you try the telemetry branch to send us profiling data of the game. Hello - at the moment I cannot. The game crashes instantly in 1.4.1 100% of the time if I start a new game in 1.4.1, try to load a 1.4.2 save on 1.4.1 or enter a settlement after loading a 1.4.0 save.

I've started re-download of the beta branch, but will be able to play at earliest on 11th June, then I'll try to gather telemetry data.

Telemetry is atm a no-go. Game on perf_test crashes when trying to load a 1.4.2 beta save. The only change in meantime was the hotfix, but probably not the cause here.
