The effects of most drugs are a change of nature. People start imagining they're in a magical world of giant mushrooms and aliens or that spiders are crawling around under their skin or whatever. Something you never experience in the real/sober world. When you have people getting high on mescaline or PCP or acid or one of those Amazonian plant drugs you don't know what to expect, they could jump out of the window at any moment... LOL

Alcohol also chances people. One might be very moody personality, but as sober he doesn't have too much difficulties controlling himself. After a few shots things will look very different and soon people are dressing for funerals.
Alcohol kills drugs kill, but to me, I much rather fall from a window trying to fly than because my girlfriend was a *****.

Get real. There is no way you will get addicted to nicotine without smoking cigarettes yourself. Plus the 'psychotropic' effects of tobacco only start to kick in if you ingest huge amounts of it... like the equivalent of hundreds of cigarettes in one go.

Not the nicotine that worries me. It's the cancer risk.

Yeah, it's pretty clear that you know nothing about the topic, considering you're grouping all "drugs" into the psychadelic variety. Marijuana doesn't really make you hallucinate, but the ones that do are fun as hell. In addition, drugs are exactly like alcohol, and vice versa. Alcohol changes nature, to a degree, but drugs (unless they're exceptionally hard ones) don't really make you a different person.

Yep, sad people do drugs. Circumstances doesn't matter but if they are so desperate that they have to escape using a form of chemical, specially one which will have a direct impact on one's mind, they're pretty sad individuals. Again, it's their choice and I will not argue against it, but I still think it's sad.

And if you do drugs for the sheer funfactor then it's still your own choice, but I won't think that you're a sad individual then. Just ****ing stupid.

It's not necessarily about "escape", and using them because they're fun is not "stupid", especially if one analyzes the risks. I'd say using a drug for fun, rather than for some craving or to ease pain, is absolutely fine. **** you, stop being a judgmental *******.

The people I know who have used drugs have also at one point seen a psychologist or some sort of councilor. Simply put, a healthy person mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally doesn't  have any use for drugs. Plus, there are far better ways to have fun than to go on a nature hike with shrooms, vomit, and wander through the woods.

I know people that could easily hook me up with shrooms, acid, and weed, but sober life's challenging enough as is, so I don't exactly see any reason for making it worse.

I love my friends though. "DUDE LETS GET MORE ****ED UP!" they seem to say.

Two of the most stable people I know smoke, drink, and have used acid and shrooms repeatedly.  Admittedly, one of them has since stopped, but he certainly had (and has) fewer issues than I do, and I've smoked maybe five times in my life.

With regards to the thread in question, I "do" 1 mg of pizotifen nightly, lest I get migraines the next day.

I think he means that it's not a synthetic compund, like meth, or crack. It grows, buds, and if it so happens to be set aflame. 

I only smoke cannabis, and have ate shrooms once. I didn't hallucinate, but had a fun time.

I absolutely loathe the types of people who do the "get ****ed up!" routine.

Smoke, drink, or whatever you do, relax and enjoy yourself and others.

Right, have a real fun life. Sounds kinda like you need to smoke a joint and relax, hey drop a gurn, might open your mind a little.

When it's flashing before your eyes because you were silly enough to start expressing your inexperienced opinions in real life to a serious person who takes great offense, it's going to be pretty dull to watch, I reckon.

Also, yeah, cannabis is a drug, just because it's natural doesn't mean it isn't.

It's like those people who say 'Don't panic it's organic! Natural things are fine, it's man-made that's death.', um, hey, yeah, natural is fine? What about all those mushrooms and plants that kill you deader than Steve Irwin if you eat them?

Naturally, anecdotal evidence proves nothing, but its a step. 

Yeah it's a step which shows that two out of perhaps a few million people have managed to remain stable despite drug use.  There's more conclusive evidence than that out there, I'm sure you'll agree.

Anyway, drugs suck. They're for cheap pleasure and escape from life in the worst cases. The money you spend on the drugs would be better spent improving whatever it is that got you on them in the first place.

I wonder if when/if drugs are legalized, people who look down on those who use them will at all be regarded the same way as those who look down on people with a different religion.

Mushrooms
Salvia
Cocaine (tried it once, liked it but didn't want to continue doing it, tried it a second time, hated it)

That would be an absolute ***** to clean.

I suppose technically I have an addiction to valium... but only because I find it genuinely impossible to sleep without it. I also take Ritalin and various other wonderful compounds with names the size of my forearm to combat my OCD and MDD, but Valium's the bugger for me, because I know I genuinely would go nuts without it.
