Swords in general have a slight variation between factions.

Im going to give general examples, they may vary between units. Formating needed.

Line Infantry (Ex. used: 45e Ranker)
STR 14 AGI 14
1h-50 Polearms-130 Crossbows-150
Ironflesh-3 Powerstrike-3 Athletics-3
Light Horse

Cuirasser (Ex. used: 9eme Cuirassers)
STR 7 AGI 5

Ironflesh-7 Powerstrike-3 Riding-6

Fun things:
Cav seems same as before, while infantry is slower.
Infantry aims as bad (or as good as before).
Both lancers and hussars use "Light Horses", but there is Hussar Light Horse and Lancer Light Horse. The hussar one is faster and has more maneuv.
Stats of the musket are the same. So accuracy hasnt changed at all.

Ironflesh 7!!! Screw having those guys on horseback. Next game of commander im just going to just try a load of dismounted cuirassors as shock infantry

Except for RP purpose, in LB for example, is there any interest to pick line infantry instead of Grenadier/Guard ?

On normal servers you have a limitation on how many players per team are allowed to go foot guards. Same with events, you will not have a team consisting only of them.

The bonus in melee they receive is only marginal and gameplaywise you will not notice a big difference between them and normal line units.

Line infantry are also not forced into double rank, which is basically a cannon magnet
