Reason for wanting to be in the Town Guard/Civilian Watch
After roleplaying for a month or two now on the United PW roleplaying server, the only roleplaying and level of roleplaying that seems consistent is that of the Town Guard. I am a serious roleplayer looking for some serious roleplaying company.
Besides, I am currently reading Terry Pratchett's novels, which got me pretty excited about rolepaying in a Guard unit. Also, this new city in scene 7 offers a great roleplaying opportunity for the Town Guard. I really wish to make use of that opportunity.

Situations (Advanced Questioning for Town Guard applicants only)
Someone in town dies/logs out, they drop their items and armour because they have died. Someone quickly loots the body and steals the items, the person returns to collect their things (if they didn't log out) and sees that their body has been looted. You notice the event, what do you do?
Point out who looted him and advice him to contact that person and try to settle things, otherwise he should contact an admin.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
I would shout a warning and notify them of the presence of a Town Guard. If they do not stop, they disturb public order and I will declare they act against the law. Then I shall proceed to using the necessary force to stop and arrest them.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?
I will report it to the admin, because randomers should be banned and banning is not within the power of the Town Guard. If the randomer shows up, I shall kill him to prevent further harm to other players and return the victim's lost money.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down?
I shall use violance if he keeps resisting arrest. We uphold the law and crime is crime, no time for petty arguments!

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens?
That scumbag thief, a scorch on the land, I say! I shall aide thee victim in returning his horse, though without violance. I shall persuade the thief to hand himself out.  If he does not cooperate, I shall bring him down with an bolt sticking between his eyes!

Situations (Advanced Questioning for Town Guard applicants only)
Someone in this town / logs out, they drop their items and armor because they have died. Someone quickly loots the body and steals the items, the person returns to collect their things (if they did not log out) and sees that their body has been looted. You notice the event, what do you do?
I would say the first stop so no one runs away from me first clarify the two and so the matter will be no hassle. (In the emergency admin modest to say)

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other players verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
I would stop the fight with the necessary violence and they point out that they break the law and they want to go into the arena

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of role play, the factions were not at war / both players were commoners. How do you proceed?
I would report to the admin randomer and randomer one who tried to attack one I'd stop him with the necessary violence

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation down, and what would you do in order to calm the man?
when he again stood on the other hand I have to make use of violence because he has broken the law

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about the situation to intervening Ensure that nothing happens?
I would pray for the thief to replace the horse or the money to the victim to give back.

Reason for wanting to be in the Town Guard/Civilian Watch (strike where appropriate) To be involved in a faction dedicated to keeping the peace in town, so that others might not be harrased while trying to go about their buisness
References/recommendations (does anyone support you or were you recruited?) No sadly not

You ask the person who has taken the items (if they can be found that is) to return them to their rightful ower, if not escort them to prison to do penance for their crimes
There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?Kick both players away from each other and if they continue to fight then try and get them to settle their differences vocally, if this also fails then a small amount of time in the tin pail should do the job
Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed? Ask the players why the event happened, and ask them kindly not to do it again,
You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down? IF he is causing enough grief to warrant a kick from the admin let that be done, and hopefully being removed will help him learn his lesson. If not then a small ban of a few minutes so that they know you are not joking, however would only do this in extreme cases
There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens? Ask the horse theif to give the other player an amount of money equal to that of the horses worth. If the player refuses escort him to the hold and jail him for an appropriate amount of time to let him know his actions were in the wrong.

You notice the event, what do you do? I run over and call on the players to "Halt in the name of the law" This is so i may see if they have broken the law. I then ask was the reason for his sudden departure illness(crash of some kind) or being knocked unconcious(killed). If he says it was a crash then he gets his stuff if not then the guy can keep it.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
"Halt of face the full force of the law" Then if they dont stop i will get others to pin one of them in a corner will blockin staffs and spears.

Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed? Murder is a serious crime so i say "HALT IN THE NAME OF THE LAW U HAVE COMMITED MURDER U DO NOT HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING BUT WHAT U DO SAY MAY LATER BE RELIED ON IN COURT" (caps locks as it is MURDER!!!!!) the man then will face a small trial and if found guilty he will die but i think if he has good armour then he can put it away in a chest- that way people will be more willin to go along with rp.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down? Halt in the name of the law good man and plz explain ur actions. If i saw the thievein or anyone else did then the man will be given options 1- pay fine 2- go jail - 4- repay the man who lost the horse- 5 - resist arrest and therefore die
This is a shock. He was always insulting us, and rebellion against us. But we should give him a chance.

Situations (Advanced Questioning for Town Guard applicants only)
*NOTE* i am on nearly every day.

Someone in town dies/logs out, they drop their items and armour because they have died. Someone quickly loots the body and steals the items, the person returns to collect their things (if they didn't log out) and sees that their body has been looted. You notice the event, what do you do? If he/she droped the items and i saw the person who took them, I'd ask the person to pay the money they picked up of the dead persons body and tell the player who logged out/died that they wont be able to retrieve their items back but i would make Shaw that the money would be returned. if he/she resist's to give the money back i will use force/slay that person.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight? I would quickly scan the situation to see if dangerous or not, then depending on the situation i would move in shield up and ask nicely to break it up, if they dint respond i would Punch/kick one, then ask again if they stop i fine both of them for fighting in the city and investagate what happened and then who ever started the fight i would take the to prison for 5minutes.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed? Firstly i find the person who murdered the other player and make them pay how much they looted and a fine of 2-5k then take them to jail for 5 minutes, if they do not respond to talking action would be

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down? I would ask him again nicely or make him pay the bail money(depending what happened will determin how much their bail is)or i could try reverse physiology, if both options fail i would call for another guard to help me "force" the player to jail.

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens? I would quickly run and get between the two of them then ask another guard to come just in case(especially when one of them is intend on "revenge")a "situation" arises, I would then make the thief pay the player for a new horse the take the thief away to jail or pay his bail.
Now Ranger is on alot. But there is no Roleplay, or even real player into him. I've seen him break Official rules multiple times.

Reason for wanting to be in the Town Guard/Civilian Watch
Well I think is one of the best ways to roleplay, and in fact in the past i was a townwatch a lot of times, I don’t know if somebody will remember me being TW i like the role of it, helping serfs, protect them, keep peace and order in the town...
Also, nowadays is one of the best organized factions and i think it's good for the faction beacuse there will not be more randomers in the faction.
I have been playing role games since the mod SA-MP, is a modification for GTA San Andreas, and i used to play in roleplay servers.
I have a good roleplay level and i think i will be a good member in this faction.

(strike where appropriate)
References/recommendations (does anyone support you or were you recruited?)
No.

Just don’t get involved, the person logged out so their belongings are not their anymore, if the people die and their belongings have been looted by another player, I will advice the person ho died not to attack the looter because is against the rules, once dead, your belongings are not yours anymore.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
First of all, told them to stop in 10 second and start the countdown, if they don’t stop I will kick the players to separate them, once they are separated I will told them to stop the fight and solve the problem talking in front of me and telling me why they were fighting and try to achieve a viable solution.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?
In this case theres two viable solutions, the first is to force him to return the gold back + 1k for compensation or if he refuses call for backup and jail him.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down?
I will try to speak with him/her a lot time (I don’t like to kill with poor reasons) I will follow him/her and call for backups to persuade him/her, if he/her doesn’t obey I will attack him/her to scare him/her, maybe he will obey me and if he/her continues disobeying I will kill him/her.

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens?
I will ask the victim if he/her is really sure if that player was the thief, if his answer is affirmative I will proceed with his detention, and first of all I would persuade the victim to not to attack or do something against the law.
I have no idea. I've seen him ingame, but never really caught my eye.

hey man, erm i don't think iv ever broken a rule due to its a new character although you might have mistaken me for someone else  and its pointless breaking rules there there to make the game good and fun for everyone, i also have another account i play with called "OG_Huscarl"and i was rejected TG for my age and they thought i was "TW"(i think there like the older version of the TG??) last time i applied so i thought i might as well try wen i become 15. (I'm now 15 xD). I'm good RPer on PW_EU_server, i help admin I.E if i see someone breaking rules or being harsh on noobs i tell admin, i have proof (ask a admin of the server xD), but i wont hold the confusion against u its an honest mistake i guess also i play with an acc on united server called "Blood_Warrior_Wolfrix" (you most likely seen me with that tag ) although i do remember running into TG HQ shouting "theres a fight outside!!!".........nothing, so i had to run outside an break up my self then i got randomed for doing YOUR GUYS job,i don't mind like but that's why I'm trying to join TG because i listen if ppl who need help or direction ect. and not ignore them.

References/recommendations (does anyone support you or were you recruited?) Scorpia said he'd vouch for me. I temp joined the in-game faction to help fight against the Rebellion whom protested against the Town Guard.

I will go up the "victim" and see if he wants his items back, or if he is not willing to "press charges". If he does want his items back, i will point out the "thief" and ask him to return any valuables he might have taken while the "victim" was gone. I would also not do this IF, someone comes back way later, maybe 10-20 mins later and wants his items returned.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?

I would start by saying, Stop fighting!, if they do not comply, i will kick one of the two out of the way or try to block them from reaching each other with their fists and try to make them stop by blocking them.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?

i will ask the murderer to tell me/him why he killed him, and see if i can make them explain themselves or any past argument they might have had, and i will ask them both to calm down or lock one of them up, depending on their behavior.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down?

I would try to tell him to stop, if he does not. i would have to defend myself, if he would get violent, and ask him for a excuse after he has been disarmed and hopefully resolve it without the help of a admin.

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens?

I would have to try to defend the thief, if he is unarmed, if they start attacking each other,  i would be forced to stop the fighting by either killing one of them and getting excuses and explanations afterwards.

If i saw the thievein or anyone else did then the man will be given options 1- pay fine 2- go jail - 4- repay the man who lost the horse- 5 - resist arrest and therefore die
This is a shock. He was always insulting us, and rebellion against us. But we should give him a chance.

Reason for wanting to be in the Town Guard/Civilian Watch (strike where appropriate):I would like to be in TG so i could help stop the randoming and theft(quite allot and sometimes TG aren't always on) and also make job a bit easier for the admin(s), also i love RPing.
References/recommendations (does anyone support you or were you recruited?) I have a friend who would support me, although he's not TG(name:Faramir), so if its of a TG/CW then its a no.

Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down?i will explain to him his crimes and tell him his sentence length, to calm him down there is nothing i could really do.

This guy or girl. Has been waiting for a reply since our old TG. And he hasn't complained about it, also was a great help during our rush of crime this afternoon.

No.

Reason for wanting to be in the Town Guard/Civilian Watch (strike where appropriate) I'd be happy to do either Guard or Watch, but generally I am uninterested by the rampant warmongering that the various groups do.  The RP in town is much more interesting and also the place is a crazy ghost town when no one from the TW is on.  It'd be nice to strike a bit of order in there during NA times.
References/recommendations (does anyone support you or were you recruited?) I doubt it, I haven't been playing too long.

Having witnessed this event, I would face down the looter.  By the law he should pay the victim 100 gold and return the stolen items.  If he doesn't want to cooperate then I'll convince him to do so with some liberal application of a blunt weapon, preferably my fists.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?

Just because I can't use a weapon doesn't mean that I can't threaten these poor sods with one.  Upon the outset of a fight I figure it's best to shake the sword at them a little bit to see if that'll calm them down and cause them to agree to pay the fine for assault and sit in jail for a bit.  If they keep the fists flying despite the threat of death hanging over them then death it will have to be, going by the book at least.  More than likely after feeling the sting of a blade they'll give up their folly and come quietly.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?

I would choose to be lenient in this case due to the fact that some roleplay was involved (presumably "tax pls 1k" then a fight to the death).  Instead of sentencing the offender to death I would order him to pay heavy reparations to the victim as well as return any looted items.  Of course if the offender ends up repeating this action he'll hang.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down?

Unfortunately sometimes with players who act completely OOC and very meta, the only option is to ask an administrator for assistance.  However IF the man is an excellent roleplayer and acting out an aggressive fight the power attitude, then I would shake my arsenal of weaponry at him to remind him exactly who is the one in charge here.  If he continues to resist arrest then the only option would probably be to injure him and see if that induces some docility.  I really do not want to kill someone who actually wants to roleplay so if he keeps it up we'll probably have a cool chase scene through the streets until he escapes through some unforeseen secret door while I curse his name.  If he's just being a **** I'd probably end up killing him though.

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens?

First of all, I need to cool down the fiesty victim.  It's just a horse my poor friend, let the town guard deal with this fairly.  If necessary I would detain him to prevent him from assaulting the supposed thief.  If the victim has absolutely no proof that this man stole his horse, I can do absolutely nothing.  Without a witness I am powerless to do anything.  If I witness the crime myself then I would immediately arrest the thief and either demand the horse's return along with a fine or a completely new horse.

I have decided after some thought I've decided to abstain on any applications I have not yet voted on. This is due to the fact that I simply am unable to review or even read them due to RL time constraints. To make up for it I'm going to give Ripfin a No because he failed the first question. ESPECIALLY because he did it when I wrote that that answer is just TWO PAGES AGO.

Now I apologize, but I answered honestly despite reading the thread.  Being penalized for not copy pasting the answer is ridiculous.  If this is some sort of exam where there is only one correct answer then that's fine, but perhaps the lawbook should be a bit more elaborate in that case.  Conjecturing what to do based on either a. seeing where other people messed up or b. just guessing correctly is silly.

To expound, what's the point of having such an exam if all the answers are available, but not where someone would expect them?  And to make it even worse, the correct answer is almost the opposite of the stated laws in the original post!

well to be honest look at this link 4 my other app and look at one of the "Officers" put
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,203424.585.html

i didnt mind the other votes like i think it was yours or benedictus who said my answers were bad, yes thats a good reason to turn me down but not some crap like "im going to say no due to his age" maximius said that and thats just bull**** some ppl in the TG are like 14.
you see i dont mind be turned down for a good reason and yes i did put that thing about the "ppl who could not judge" well if you look back im dam right about it, because being turned down for an age is **** (you even said so your self and some others)fact is im not going to be a winy little ***** and start saying "oh oh i didnt put that" because i speak what i think and also i didnt put who  could not judge for **** but i can tell you one thing, that is the ppl who voted due to answers or a good reason, i listened to it and i also took into account about the answers like i listened to you, benedictus, killer110 and Gwyrdh due to good/ok judging skills because the person who did about the answers ACTUALLY gave a good reason which i respected. also dont let ppl who judge due to ages vote, ffs its understandable a 12yr old being turned down but a 14/15yr old. who job who ever votes for answers=Good judging skills, ppl who judge on age=poor judging skills
