Introduction

The United_PW server is recruiting skilled and appropriate members for its Town Guard faction. The Town needs some sort of civilised police force capable of upholding the law and preventing crime in the town, and as a result the town needs guarding. In order to combat this, a Town Guard will be established in order to act as lawmakers, an in addition we will be hiring mercenaries who wish to act as vigilantes but not employed Town Guard members. There will be a very serious and disciplined attitude concerning this Town Guard, as many before have failed and could lead to the downfall of this one due to its shady past. Because of this, the application process will be vigorous and very tough. It will consist of a personal interview, a series of situations that you must deal with and also will be heard by the higher ranks of the Town Guard in order to get a vote concerning their application. The members of the panel who will judge applicants will be made up of admins and experienced, respected, dedicated and trustworthy players. We will not have any old person joining, and we want to ensure that this is done properly, thoroughly and expertly.

The new Town Guard is going to be a hybrid, there will be the interviewed and proper Town Guard members who will have been hand chosen by the panel of judges or higher ranks and then there will be the Civilian Watch; these will be like hired members of the community who wish to help out with the Town Guard, and as a result will add a mix of profession with raw recruits. People who make themselves shown prominently as members of the Civilian Watch may apply for the Town Guard and will be in higher stead for acceptance, however any Civilian Watch who is seen to be misbehaving by an older or more experienced player will be punished, and will be removed from the Civilian Watch, thereby never allowing them to play as the faction again.

Crime and Punishment (Civilian Laws)

The punishments for each crime committed within the town are set out in a clear and easy way to be seen and read by any and all. Breaking of any of these laws will result in the punishment stated in this section of the thread. They will be listed and repeated breaking of the law will result in further consequence each time.

Petty Crimes:
  • Item Theft: The stealing of any item of any particular price - the stolen items can include anything of belonging to another person which you wrongly took from their person upon their death or the accidental dropping of said item. Punishable by a 100 gold fine and the stolen items will be forfeit to the owner, if the owner does not claim ownership, then the item will be kept in custody of the Town Guard until one is found. If no owner is found, the item will be sold and used for the pay of the Town Guard members. (1 hour must be waited until this may happen).
  • Horse Theft: The theft of a horse belonging to someone other than yourself. If someone is to leave a horse unattended, to take it is a crime and can lead to fines. The punishment for this crime is either a 500 gold fine, or if the horse is injured/killed during the event, can lead to the perpetrator having to pay for a new horse for its previous owner. Resisting arrest during the theft of a horse can result in your death if deemed necessary (i.e. fleeing the scene of the crime, attacking Town Guard members or the event escalating).
  • Ore/Money Theft: The theft of money bags or ores is considered to be picking up any stray money bags dropped during a fight or picking up one dropped by another for the purpose of a sale, compensation etc., and stealing something like this could lead to a very expensive punishment. Stealing a money bag or ore will lead to you having to repay the money for the ore or the money in the bag found. You will pay the price of the nearest ore sale point for ores and you will pay the exact amount found in the money bag, and failure to do so will result in fines in excess of 1000 gold. Should you refuse, it could lead to imprisonment, and resisting arrest could lead to your demise (provided the crime escalates).
  • Drunk and Disorderly [RP]: If someone has exceeded the alcohol limit, leading to their inability to function correctly, they will be considered drunk and disorderly. This means abusive shouting, arguments, failure to comply and a general unawareness of your surroundings due to the intoxication caused by the alcohol. Punishment for this crime is a 750 gold fine and arrest until the perpetrator has sobered up enough to be deemed safe to be outside.

Severe Crimes:
  • Assault/Fights: The assault of any person can lead to a very serious punishment. This pertains to attacking any person deliberately with any object which causes damage in some shape or form. If the fight is interrupted successfully, both parties will be detained, and if not then it could lead to the death of one or both participants. Fighting in town could lead to a punishment of fines in excess of 1.5k, and can lead to imprisonment too. Failure to pay the fine will mean an indefinite stay in a prison cell. The maximum time any one person can serve at any time is 10 minutes, and any time longer will result in punishment of the person who is responsible for imprisonment. Additionally, failure to stop fighting upon request can lead to your death.
  • Murder: To kill another person in town, for any reason (excluding war with said faction) will certainly lead in your death. Any action against another player that is considered unjust will mean very serious punishment for you. To murder another player in town will result in death unless the perpetrator of the crime surrenders himself to the law or agrees to pay a compensation to the victim, with a minimum of 5k for the fine.

Roster and Ranks

The Town Guard's application will be very strict and, as stated in the introduction, will be hard to get into. You must be a well known player, and must be accepted by at least two of the three judges/high ranking officials before your application is accepted. Additionally, if you are accepted into the Town Guard, when you are on duty you must always wear the following tags: Town_Guard_*Name*, however for higher ranks it will be as follows: Town_Guard_*Rank*_*Name*. The Civilian Watch is different, though. If you wish to be in the Civilian Watch, all you need to do is be aware of these rules and join the faction. Failure to RP correctly or failure to stick to the rules will result in you being forbidden from joining the faction again. There are optional tags, which are as follows: Civ_Watch_*Name*. We are currently looking for officers for the Civilian Watch (i.e. less dedicated members who have less time that Town Guard members, preferably with experience of either the prior Civil Guard or Town Watch).

***

Recruit (Rec) There are no responsibilities to this rank, however all recruits are expected to be active and good RolePlayers, and should they not be they will not be accepted as full time Guardsmen. All Recruits will be voted upon for promotion by the higher ranks.
Guard (Grd) The Guards have a responsibility to be a service to the people of the town. They must RolePlay to a high standard and must always be willing to listen to other people. They need to know the crimes and punishments for these crimes in order to be promoted further. They must be very active.
Corporal (Cpl) The Corporal is a senior member of the Guard, he oversees all the people of the Town Guard and makes sure that they are doing their duties correctly. They must also be active, and their responsibilities include activity, good RolePlay and above all you must set a good example for all other guardsmen to adhere to.
Sergeant (Sgt) The Quartermaster is a trainer and is an administrative role. The Quartermaster is responsible for the forums, accepting recruits and training them. The QM will be master of the recruits, and will be expected to teach them both how to RolePlay and the rules of the TG.
Lieutenant (Lt) The Lieutenant is an officer of the Guard, they will command squads/platoons when we have enough men to do so. They are expected to vote on new applicants and are also expected to be active.
Captain (Cpt) The Captain is the highest rank of the Guard, and will lead either the TG or the CW. These Captains have command over the Lieutenants. There is one Lieutenant to each Captain (no Lieutenant yet for the CW).

Someone in town dies/logs out, they drop their items and armour because they have died. Someone quickly loots the body and steals the items, the person returns to collect their things (if they didn't log out) and sees that their body has been looted. You notice the event, what do you do?
Well, I would speak with the person who stole the things, I will guide the thief to the "victim". The "victim" wants their things, so the thief must pay the money that the other person has lost and put the things into a box. If the thief doesn`t want to drop the things, i could make a duel against him/her, if I die, the "victim" take my things, if I win, the things will be recovered, BUT if the thief doesn't want a duel, i'll kill him/her with advise...so...the thief can take 3 choices, but in theese 3 choices, the victim would be paid.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
I would stay between the fighters with the shield up, when the fighters stop, I will arrest them and in the cells, I would try to investigate the cause of the fight, if the fighters don`t want to cooperate, they will pay 1,5K for their release. If they can't pay, they will be in the cells for 5 minutes, after this time, they will be released

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?
Well, the murder must pay the money that the victim drop when he/she died, and 1k for compensation.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens? I would to stop the thief, and they will give the gold for new horse, then, I will buy a new horse for the victim (so, the victim won`t see the thief, and I will prevent a fight), If the thief resist, I will attack him/her

Move in fight, stop them immediately. I will try to find out what happened and investigate it. If i am sure that something really happened, then i might lock him up or punish him.

Move in, stop "revenge" guy and thief. Try to investigate what happened and when. Force thief to pay for horse and take him to prison for short time. Advice angry guy to don´t kill anyone in town. If thief doesn´t want to pay.. Slay time! And angry guy has refund for his horse.

Hey there,

Since I've shown my disliking about the old situation on the old map, I thought I'd be quite appropriate to tell you that I'm satisfied with the current map and castle! We're very well equipped and atleast our job can be properly done now.

I have one question though. I believe I was promoted to Guard like a month and a half ago, but the list still shows me as Recruit.

No. From what I can see you think the TG is a group of white knights sworn to protect men at all costs. What we really do is stop randoming and attempt medieval RP. Otherwise we wouldn't allow slavery. (Also you got the first answer wrong but that's excusable this time.)

No. I saw the word "slay" too many times and "lock him up" only once.

It's not really a new map. It was actually the same map as the 3rd last map except updated. The old map was for Beta1 and this one is for Beta2.

Page 8 old TG thread said:
If someone dies and drops armour and weapons those armour and weapons do not belong to anyone [as long as that person wasn't killed]. Anyone can take them.

I know i can't vote. But Natya has my vote aswell, she may have the problem in English, on Taleworlds, but ingame she has good Roleplay, and she will! not fail.

well it depends. if the victim got randomt then he have the right to get his items back(to keep it kinda short: if the person who toke those items doesnt want to give it back.. then he have 2 choises the good way or the not very good way ). if he duelt someone then he lost it. simple as that.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
i give them a chance to speak honestly if they choose to blame eachother i put them both in jail for 5 minuts, after i come back i ask them again if they still choose to blame eachother i let them cool down for 5 more minuts. if they decided to tell the trust they both will get a fine for causing chaos/troubles in our town. and the 1 who caused it will have to pay a bit more.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?
he `got 2 choises:
1: give the gold back + 1k compensation.
2: if he refused to payback, then he will spend 10 min in jail.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. i would lead the thief to the victim(after i told them not to fight or anything that we will come to a solution on a civil way)
i would give the victim 2 choises:
1: the thief will give the gold back and 1k compensation.
2: let him spend 10 minuts in jail.(10min sounds a bit to much, but i do NOT tolorate stealing)

Andres you must agree we dont have time to lock someone up , mostly he refuse or somehow escape the prison , I saw word " slay" only 2 times and they was used in quite good meaning..    "however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else" if he refuse to listen ( so he will auto-refuse jail ) i think slay is  only choise...

Situations (Advanced Questioning for Town Guard applicants only)
*NOTE* i am on nearly every day.

Someone in town dies/logs out, they drop their items and armour because they have died. Someone quickly loots the body and steals the items, the person returns to collect their things (if they didn't log out) and sees that their body has been looted. You notice the event, what do you do? If he/she droped the items and i saw the person who took them, I'd ask the person to pay the money they picked up of the dead persons body and tell the player who logged out/died that they wont be able to retrieve their items back but i would make Shaw that the money would be returned. if he/she resist's to give the money back i will use force/slay that person.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight? I would quickly scan the situation to see if dangerous or not, then depending on the situation i would move in shield up and ask nicely to break it up, if they dint respond i would Punch/kick one, then ask again if they stop i fine both of them for fighting in the city and investagate what happened and then who ever started the fight i would take the to prison for 5minutes.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed? Firstly i find the person who murdered the other player and make them pay how much they looted and a fine of 2-5k then take them to jail for 5 minutes, if they do not respond to talking action would be

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down? I would ask him again nicely or make him pay the bail money(depending what happened will determin how much their bail is)or i could try reverse physiology, if both options fail i would call for another guard to help me "force" the player to jail.

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens? I would quickly run and get between the two of them then ask another guard to come just in case(especially when one of them is intend on "revenge")a "situation" arises, I would then make the thief pay the player for a new horse the take the thief away to jail or pay his bail.

Situations (Advanced Questioning for Town Guard applicants only)
Someone in town dies/logs out, they drop their items and armour because they have died. Someone quickly loots the body and steals the items, the person returns to collect their things (if they didn't log out) and sees that their body has been looted. You notice the event, what do you do? I run over and call on the players to "Halt in the name of the law" This is so i may see if they have broken the law. I then ask was the reason for his sudden departure illness(crash of some kind) or being knocked unconcious(killed). If he says it was a crash then he gets his stuff if not then the guy can keep it.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
"Halt of face the full force of the law" Then if they dont stop i will get others to pin one of them in a corner will blockin staffs and spears.
Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed? Murder is a serious crime so i say "HALT IN THE NAME OF THE LAW U HAVE COMMITED MURDER U DO NOT HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING BUT WHAT U DO SAY MAY LATER BE RELIED ON IN COURT" (caps locks as it is MURDER!!!!!) the man then will face a small trial and if found guilty he will die but i think if he has good armour then he can put it away in a chest- that way people will be more willin to go along with rp.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down? Halt in the name of the law good man and plz explain ur actions. I will then offer him a bit of prime orange juice and some bread to nibble on to calm him down.

There has been a horse theft in the town and the victim is irate. He is seeking to kill the player who stole his horse, who appears to have fled the scene. However, the thief has returned to town without the horse, and the victim has noticed him. How would you go about intervening the situation to ensure that nothing happens? halt in the name of the law thief!
If i saw the thievein or anyone else did then the man will be given options 1- pay fine 2- go jail - 4- repay the man who lost the horse- 5 - resist arrest and therefore die

Reason for wanting to be in the Town Guard/Civilian Watch
Well I think is one of the best ways to roleplay, and in fact in the past i was a townwatch a lot of times, I don’t know if somebody will remember me being TW i like the role of it, helping serfs, protect them, keep peace and order in the town...
Also, nowadays is one of the best organized factions and i think it's good for the faction beacuse there will not be more randomers in the faction.
I have been playing role games since the mod SA-MP, is a modification for GTA San Andreas, and i used to play in roleplay servers.
I have a good roleplay level and i think i will be a good member in this faction.

Just don’t get involved, the person logged out so their belongings are not their anymore, if the people die and their belongings have been looted by another player, I will advice the person ho died not to attack the looter because is against the rules, once dead, your belongings are not yours anymore.

There is a fight in town, someone has insulted the other player verbally and a fist fight ensued. The players seem intent on beating each other to a bloody pulp and you must intervene using non-lethal force (not using weaponry), what will you do to break up the fight?
First of all, told them to stop in 10 second and start the countdown, if they don’t stop I will kick the players to separate them, once they are separated I will told them to stop the fight and solve the problem talking in front of me and telling me why they were fighting and try to achieve a viable solution.

Someone in the town killed another player, and the player is very upset with the murder. Upon inspection, it appears that there was no major reason, other than some basic forms of RolePlay, the factions were not at war/both players were commoners. How do you proceed?
In this case theres two viable solutions, the first is to force him to return the gold back + 1k for compensation or if he refuses call for backup and jail him.

You have detained a player for breaking the law, however he continues to resist arrest and is refusing to listen to you or anyone else. How would you go about defusing the situation, and what would you do in order to calm the man down?
I will try to speak with him/her a lot time (I don’t like to kill with poor reasons) I will follow him/her and call for backups to persuade him/her, if he/her doesn’t obey I will attack him/her to scare him/her, maybe he will obey me and if he/her continues disobeying I will kill him/her.

I will ask the victim if he/her is really sure if that player was the thief, if his answer is affirmative I will proceed with his detention, and first of all I would persuade the victim to not to attack or do something against the law.

Now Ranger is on alot. But there is no Roleplay, or even real player into him. I've seen him break Official rules multiple times.
