A bastard sword is supposed to be usable in one hand as well, so it being as tall as the wielder does not seem probable at all.OrthodoxSerb 说:this looks really cool, but one thing i noticed. The bastard sword looks short. it should be as tall or even taller than the man wielding it, they had a 6ft blade and in the screen shot it looks short. (sorry if someone mentioned this before me) AND i would love to see more of anything u make, it all looks very nice.

FrisianDude 说:Zweihänder is simply a group name. Certain Claymores would've been two-handed as well, though.

No bastard=half, therefore bastard sword = hand-and-a-half sword ie a little too hard for one handed use.Galtran 说:EDIT: hmm, apparently the longsword IS the bastard sword, so that would make the bastard sword the bastard child of the shortsword and of the greatsword(?)

Mayhem 说:Nice work Talak, I'm definitely going to use thisand Credit of course.

Long sword has a different meaning depending on timeframe.. medieval it referred to a onehanded sword which was renamed a broadsword when rapiers came into fashion. Around late medieval to renaissance longsword referred to a bastard sword. Approximately how it happened.
Onehanded sword is about 65-80 cm long, where 75cm to 80cm is for huge guys or rapier-like blades.
Bastard is about 85-100cm long, and anything over 110cm is a 2-handed sword.
These measurements include the hilt and all, and aren't exact but are an accurate guide.
Also, I've seen a sword as tall as myself, at 6" long. Let me tell you it wasn't good in a fight, if it wasn't spring steel it would have broken on the first fight and it was very whippy. Anything over 5" is ceremonial and truly functional ones look like the buster blade.
