Unfortunate breakout of 'Peace' - what to do?

I'm not an experienced player so please forgive any innocence here.

I'm a loyal vassal of the Rhodeks and was enjoying skirmishing with the Nords, even helping out with the odd siege. Then, in a spate of universal harmony, the Rhodoks declare a truce. Now, I'm not at war with anyone and spend my hours looking for a good fight by tracking down large groups of Sea Raiders. This is getting a little tired though and they aren't proving much of a challenge...

Can anyone suggest my options to get some battles in? I have considerd 1: jumping ship to another kingdom. 2: randomly attacking an other faction or 3: using the troop editor to increase the size of the raider parties...

Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

Get the warmonger quest from one of the lords in your faction. One of your lords will probably say something like "This peace with the Khergit Khanate is...    ...I want you to raid 2 of their caravans."

When you finish that quest, war will have been made.

I have been given that quest by a minor Rhodok noble - I was concerned it might severely irritate the King and I'd lose favour.

Well, it's better to lose favor than to hunt sea raiders waiting for a new war to start.

It does irritate people I think, but you can easily do quests for them to get your relations back.

I see, that sounds really quite easy

Thanks all

PS This board gets really really quick replies.. Very nice.

When trying to get this quest, it is best not to go around asking all the lords for quests and either turning down the other quests they offer you, or taking them and then failing lots because you have too many to manage them, just do quests for one lord over and over. Complete each one and when you ask for another he won't be able to give you one he has before, so eventually you'll get it.

BIG HINT: pick the King to be source of your quests, since getting in his good books by completing lots of quests is a huge advantage. There are few things more annoying than putting in tons of work conquering a city, only to have it handed off to some piss-artist lord who never gets anything done.

Exactly!  So Lord X, Y, and almost Z loves you... how nice.  But if the King Loves you... well come on... of course there are advantages to being the King's favorite... like when he is handing out estates or, when he joins you on a quest, etc etc.

I generally harrass other factions regardless! Though, sometimes I like to role-play out peace time by doing a poop load of trading. That or stock up on food, disband your army, and wait in your castle/city till war is declared!

make a bit of gold for yourself, and train a few men, you never know when the next conflict will break out. Its always good to be prepared.

I think i posted a thread about this somewhere. I have the problem like this: King gave me quests, i did them. So he gave me 3 total. When i went asking for the 4th, he said that he didn't have any more jobs for me. Okay i waited for the next day. Still no quests. Waited for an another day. Still none. I've been going to him almost every day for 40 days now. STILL NO QUESTS. That got me so pissed that i wiped out nords by myself. So i went to an another lord. He gave me 2 quests. After that i had the same problem as i had with the king. I'm still going to the king and i'm on day 70 right now.

The king doesn't ALWAYS have quests for you to do - it's rare that it takes him that long, but it still happens. Just keep waiting, he'll eventually have some more.

Also, I usually find that if I ask a lord for a quest and do all his then the king won't have any for me. I don't know if it works like that or not.

In one mod i'm playing the king has given me ZERO quests within the 200+ days i've played. I had to get my favor up with him in battle and such, quite annoying.

Maybe he just didn't need any help? It's not like every person in the world has something for you to do.

I'm usually independent (rebel) faction, so buttering up other Kings is a good idea.

Peacetime you can take time to garrison up those castles and towns that could use more reliable, stable defenses.

Also, trade.  Like most of us, we just sell loot, but every once in awhile, you come accross a GREAT trade.  Like the other day I found a trade route that made 400+ profit per unit.  30 items x 400 profit... it was NICE (of course the dynamics of supply and demand reduced the profit some).

I am having a "Peace Problem" as well..

It has been at least 2 month since my faction is at war with anyone.
I asked my faction lords for quests and finished them, and now I am having trouble asking any quests from any of them.
Once a week I can probably get a new quest from one of the lords, and it is not the war making quest -.-"
Only the king seems to keep giving me quests, once every few days. But never the war making quest..

I have been doing lots of trading, strengthening my garrisons, training troops, doing village and town quests (and not just my own town)..

So is there no way to speed up this process of making war?
If I started attacking a faction I don't like, it won't start a war against them, right?

Unfortunate?! I WISH I had some peace right now. Swadia's being attacked on all sides, and I CAN'T GET A BREAK!
