Unbalanced amount of enemy lords and parties

Hi there, I'm around my 50h campaign, right now I'm trying to invade Sturgia, only 2 main cities left.

I thought this was going to be the easy part, because you know, I'm fighting alongside my fellow Vlandian's Lords and king, we are about 2.5k unit strong army, once we are together.

And the Sturgia cities are around 750 to 1000 units of militia. So all good here.

The problem is the amount of "rogue" lords and mercenary parties that roam together, they may be small in units, but once they are forming a pack, there is no way to defeat them.

I tried several times, I had to auto-resolve one of the besieges because my PC couldn't handle the number of units (around 3000), and funny enough... i was defeated because 1 peasant was alive... yes 1... 2.500 vladians vs 500 sturgians and I was defeated for 1 unit xD...

well fair enough, the thing is, that all those parties that I told u before were waiting for my army to end the besiege, and as u can imagine, there is no way all our Vladian lords and king (without soldiers in the party, because they are dead xD) could win around 15 to 20 enemy parties...

Exemple of swarming enemies

So I was wondering if this is something that u are aware of, maybe planning something to fix this? I don't know, like some kind of modifier to the kingdoms that are falling apart, to prevent this scattering of lords and armies. Maybe force together all these guys in a massive army, like a last stand for their territory? that would be much more dramatic and enjoyable.

Thanks

I mean, isn't that a natural balancing factor? As a nation gets overwhelmed and loses territory, their lords would begin to congregate into smaller areas to defend their final holds. Taking the last few towns/castles of a faction should be an exponential effort.

Right now it's a bug that causes all minor factions, mercenaries, rebels, all of them to go to one faction which is what you are experiencing.

I had the same 'issue' but was able to deal with them. Unfortunately, it seems they stay with the faction even when it has no territories, and also means that other kingdoms won't enlist the actual mercs.

huh. I had the same happen with the Aserai, but i figured they were somehow still able to pay all these mercs. There is absolutely no way the Sturgians have that kind of money at that stage.

When besieging a really tough castle I suggest using mangonels. Build up four of them and as soon as they're built put them in reserve (click->add to reserve) to prevent them from being attacked.

When you have four, set them up all at once and watch them destroy the walls and defenses. With the walls destroyed, the enemy morale collapses and you can conquer castles with like 1.25 X the troops instead of 2.5X the troops (for a normal siege).
