It brings my thoughts back to the Slavic native league, do we not meet all the same standards they do? And even if we don't we are very close to the 12 team standard, hopefully there will be a little leniency on this rule. I think we have 10 teams?

This is the reason why NA tournaments aren't given child boards:

5-a-side cup: 33 teams
WNL: 31 teams
SNL: 16 teams
All NA tournaments: 10-13 teams, and never ask for a child board.

But it needs to be understood that the NA scene is COMPLETELY ****ING DIFFERENT THAN THE EUROPEAN SCENE and so comparing them in population and using that as an excuse is silly.  We're never going to get anywhere close to their numbers, does this mean we don't deserve a child board?

Is it our fault the population of the game has levelled out in NA?  No.

Is a child board still useful for only 11-12 teams?  I think so.

Counting sets with this 2 map format is going to yield a large amount of ties. I really think we need to look at counting rounds instead.

That can occur even with Rounds take the quarterfinals match for 5 a side for example.

I agree after last night on reveran we won the first set 4-3 (intense) and the second set swap 4-0

Now in rounds that's 8-3 a pretty big victory, but in sets it counts as a tie 1-1 to me that does not seem very accurate

The tie issue was brought up multiple times, and the second UNAC meeting (which I was unable to attend) decided to keep sets.

You will see a lot more ties than with either rounds or maps. Thankfully, since ties are kept ties in the round robin, that's fine, but hopefully it won't be an issue in the single elimination.

I might misunderstand, but wouldn't 4-3, 4-0 be a 2-0 victory, not a 1-1 tie? Unless you meant 4-3, 0-4 with 4-7 in rounds and a 1-1 set tie.
