Resolved Unable to initiate combat on campaign map

Summary:I have been plagued by this issue since the games release, on 2 different PCs and across every patch including the newest one. From time to time, when I am attempting to engage an enemy army, left clicking on the army does not initiate a battle. Instead, my army either matches the speed of a fleeing army but never catches them, or refuses to join field battles by simply standing next to them while time passes. Quitting the game to desktop, restarting, and reloading my save always seems to resolve the issue, so I do not think it is a problem with the save file.
How to Reproduce: I am not sure what causes the problem.

That sounds like your ALT button somehow being pressed while you were clicking to the enemy. When you alt+click your party will "escort/follow" the other party you clicked. Could you try to reproduce this issue with another keyboard? It might be an issue with your keyboard.
