"unable to connect to server" error

I purchased the game last night. both my base game and the DLC were steam versions.

I checked my key and its correct.
I changed the use secure connection to 0
I registered the key on their site.
I'm wanting to play the game.
edit: oh wait, I also checked my firewall. it is NOT blocked

I'm gonna try re installing the whole game right now and If that works ill edit this post, but in the mean time I would love some suggestions or assurance from the moderators that this problem is being taken seriously and there is a hot-fix coming.  Im not mad yet but i just wanna play the game.

Help please?


Edit:  I completely reinstalled the game and rechecked the above steps.  The game is still giving me the "unable to connect to server" error.  Nothing i have found on any forums here or on steam help me.  Please? god please....

This is probably related to the connection between server and your computer, i'm trying to optimise the network layer more though!.

I did exactly as you did and still have the issue. I cannot join any server thus cannot play the game

Ok, well I just would like reassurance from the dev team that this is being looked into.  It is a bit annoying but to be honest if they would come here and say "we will have a patch that will help in 2 weeks" i would be happy.  Just to know they are looking into it.

Another update: I don't know if there is any difference because NW is a DLC, but i just tried to play multiplayer in Native warband and it gives me the same exact error, however I have no problem at all with Fire and Sword... not sure if you guys have been having this experience as well?
