Um..the so called "Road Map" doesn't actually mention any new content....

Basically, at this point, the excessive negativity without any kind of fair consideration or realistic mindset, that some people are showing, is on the level of a teenage boy and his first sex. The boy just fantasizes about sex, gets his expectations and dopamine glands zonked out by watching too much hentai and porn, and by the time he actually has his first sex, gets disappointed that his orgasm isn't like the world-shattering pleasure porn promised, nor the partner's reactions the raving ahegao he always saw in hentai -- and then, subsequently starts blaming the partner for his disappointment, and could not deliver.

It's becoming PATHETIC. The forum's pretty much infested with the worst of twitter mindset.
I think you are partially misunderstanding what I’m saying here. Because Mount and Blade has never had any substantial depth of gameplay, that allowed it to be extremely open ended. Because it was so lacking in sufficient content to define what it was people inevitably assume what it is or could be and approach the game from their own perspective. Add to that a ton of mods you can play the core game number of ways some with a much more role play oriented experience.

What I’m saying is that the game was so undefined by content or handholding and largely feeling unfinished people see the unfilled potential there and inevitably make assumptions about what the game is or how to play it. But our assumptions about the game might be completely different from the direction TW wants to go or how they imagine the game. Maybe they want to gut large parts of what was in Warband to shorten the game into a more focused fast paced campaign. Maybe it’ll always feel unfinished because what we assume about the game was not what they intended.

And to let you know my partner is perfectly pleasured and my cooking is excellent.

So if you review the statement put out by the developer Duh_TaleWorlds you will see that it does not actually include any mention of new content or features.

This is a list of things already in the game, which require fixing and balancing....there is no mention of any new features or content. I think if they had new content and features they were working on...they would have mentioned them here, but they did not.

Its reads like: "We are going to finish fixing the game you've already got."

I don't know what else you can take away from their statement and its massively disappointing.
didnt read any of it, except that both of you posted something. This is progress! Happy to see TW taking notice & community holding them to standards

I think we are in the majority btw. I think most players are disappointed and thats why the amount of people playing the game has plummeted.

That's a pattern consistent with virtually all games on release. Initial surge then massive dropoff. The majority of people don't play most of their games longer than 40-60 hours.

That seems... oddly specific. Maybe see someone about your past trauma?

The sooner the people complaining leave the better.

Can't wait to have your echo chamber eh?

Games only been out for weeks and it’s made good progress, early access usually last a year or year and a half, by release this game will make warband and all the mods for it look pitiful.

Except betweem the roadmap and the Store page everything suggests that as far as features go, game's pretty much considered complete. Fixing what's broken is the most you can expect from here on out. Which absurdly enough is actually closer to what an EA phase should be about, even though it means the game is definitely never going to live up to its potential.

i agree with the authors and i'm little worry about the final game. There are no news gameplay or features listed, in one month they make many patchs but for what?

IA is a disaster and stay a disaster
Diplomacy is gone
Quests are just stupid, who wants save 120K girls from their lovers?
XP and PNj's still broken
Only fix bugs and crashs and it still so many

In one month patchs were just fix some bugs and after 8 years of dev !! Wake up guys. It's easy to understand after 8 years they needed to gain money for continue, they make many and they work hard for sure. They make many patchs and it's cool but whooah game still empty and broken, it's maybe an EA but after one month we can watch the amount of work it still and i'm worry about that.

Modders are not here for make a game but for add cool features on a finished game. The game has so many cool things, towns villages and it still unexploited, empty.

This thread is about people crying and crying, because when they were little babies, their mothers tried to satisfy all their demands. And now, when the little baby became a man, he still cries about everything, because in his mind, unconsciously, he thinks that if he cries he will get what he wants.

I have theory that people who fear all criticism, fear the world because they are not intelligent enough to view things objectively or shield themselves from those with greater mental capacity. If you look at the “complainers” the vast majority have valid remarks. And on the other side there are mostly folks who fear anything that doesn’t agree with their point of view. “Just shut it down, make it go away, make them go away.”

It is bizarre. If you can’t stay on topic or be objective, if you have nothing to contribute to the discuss, is this topic harming you? Is it hurting you? Are you afraid of words?

Its sad to see some of the old guard come into the thread and call people that are speaking of concerns, you know having a GENERAL DISCUSSION on the game and its state names. Cry babies, circle-jerking, something about weird porn eroded sex desired virgin that was oddly detailed litter a page on this thread. Why? What goal/value did you add to this thread that you likely view as a waste? This "circle-jerk" has been civil to other members and to TW as a whole. No one here in this thread is calling it a **** game. Name calling or cheered to leave for the better is pathetic and shows that maybe time on the forum has people disconnected with other opinions or lack of being able to be respectable.

So you can complain about a game all day and call it criticism, and then when someone complains that you're complaining, you get so offended that you can't stand it. Do you fear criticism?

So you can complain about a game all day and call it criticism

Indeed.

and then when someone complains that you're complaining, you get so offended that you can't stand it. Do you fear criticism?

Complaining about complaints is pointless. We're all paying customers now, so the old go-to of "Taleworlds owes you nothing" does not apply. People have a right to voice their concern/dissatisfaction with what the game is and (more importantly) looks like it will be. Or won't be, as the case may be.

See... My "cant stand it" doesn't involved belittling you or TW. In this thread no one is saying anything extreme like "TW took off with the money", "The devs are garbage", or making personal attacks to anyone disagreeing. Yes you are free to be an ass and im not fearful of your belittling people that i'm certain you wouldn't say to their face. I guess its i see no value in post demeaning members. The likelihood that a dev sees our thread is slim and taking in our opinions with care or value is slimmer, but what does complaining on complainers add?

I don't know that @Depressinho was necessarily talking about people in this thread, but we have had a fair share of people being, let's say... a little overly aggressive? in giving their (legitimate) bad feedback about the game. And some people who really liked Bannerlord have been a little too zealous with defending what they perceived as an aggression to the game, which tends to start flame wars. Luckily it seems to have gotten better recently.

Not all people who are currently not currently playing necessarily feel that bad about Bannerlord. I put 150 something hours in it, which is more than I put in most games I own, I am definitely done for right now. But overall the game does not look terrible to me even in its current state. It needs a lot of work, sure, but I still enjoyed it more than the majority of other games I own.

@StewVader: imo the drop off is caused by the fact that players had as much enjoyment as they could get from the game for right now, and with everyone being stuck at home they probably played it more than they would have under normal circumstances, which led them to drop it after a few days/weeks. If most people were disgruntled with the game surely you would notice that from Steam reviews.
Exactly, I was referring to the steam ratings and this forum in general, i assume that the majority people who like the game (88% on steam at the moment) are actually playing the game and not posting angrily on the forum.

@StewVader if you stopped to think for a second you'd realize that:
1) People played the **** out of the game in the first month or so due to quarantine, ran out of content and are waiting for new patches.
2) Many countries are starting to ease lockdown again and lots of players don't have as much time to play as they did 2 weeks ago due to work/school/university.
hence why the player count dropped, plus its normal for the player base to shrink as time goes by, what did you expect, every single player to play the game for years to come? some people get bored of video games after a week.

I must say that after thinking a little bit and lowering my "pride" (it wasn't easy) I must agree with you and ask for a pardon for beeing unpleasant.

Same as I said to NordiWill, sorry for beeing unpleasant. And I must agree, complainging about complaints is not a good idea.

Thank you and I appreciate the honesty. I bow to you god sir or maam . Ale for everyone!

This is the right approach. They must have a solid base before anything else because it will be the foundation for the official modding system and DLCs. You can't keep adding to a skycraper if the base is unstable, it will be a nightmare to work with for mods, future content and DLCs.
Let them get the game to a solid-state, then we can build on top of it with content.

450+ hours played in EA and I had some fun time but I dont see how they are going to take this to the next level. It just feels so outdated.

Well I've really enjoyed BL. Never played M&B Warband so it's all new to me. It also means my expectation levels were non-existent.

That being said, having played for a while now it's glaringly obvious that there are some major features missing from the game especially once you get to the 'endgame' for want of a better word (owning multiple fiefs, having your own kingdom, large army etc).

On thing above all others...Diplomacy, especially external diplomacy with other factions is pretty much missing from the game and it's a huge issue. Not being able to form alliances, truces, ceasefires, trade agreements etc. Not even being able to declare war or make peace unless you raid a village / hunt down a noble is just daft. I don't see this mentioned anywhere in their 'to do' list.

Much as I like BL my concern is that the game we have now is 95% done and most of the development will be minor tweaks and balances with the odd new feature or piece of content. They originally said they wanted EA to last around a year. At the current rate of development I can't see many new features making it into the game....I do hope I'm wrong.

What also strikes me as odd is from what I have read, Bannerlord is missing many of the features that were present in Warband, I don't understand why you would not implement and try to improve on successful features from a previous game...or maybe they are going for something different in BL?

I'm not sure you grasp the concept of Early-Access.
It isn't "Hey, we're releasing you the full-game ahead of everyone else, a year in advance and giving it a fancy title"... it's literally what it is, Early-Access to an unfinished product.

Why complain about them actually finishing what they set out to accomplish? I've bought games in EA that haven't even progressed beyond that and they're still unfinished to this day (and likely not being worked on).
Once the game is actually complete, then start moaning about not hearing about what DLC is going to be made and added to the base game (of which you do not possess yet).
