Can anyone determine the gun?
It looks like a Dragunov, but it's very short, so it might be a VSS Vintorez.
I too have played STALKER.

Police continues to say they do not use guns.

Although, they might be right. On the video you can see those mother****ers have yellow bandages. That's for identification. Police does not use and do not need to use this. Those men either army-man, either some hired thugs, either russians.

Deputies of Party of Regins massively declare they are leaving the party. Pro-russian deputy of Party of Regions who allways declared that Ukraine should join the Customs Union was cought in airport. He's heading to Moscow.

Bridges are blocked. Sources say that soon the internet and television will be cut off. So if I'll stop posting - that means that i-net is off. All I can do is prey. Prey with me folks and good luck to ye all!

Damnit, you've revealed my secret
STALKER is a good game, though(it make you a weapons expert, 100% true, all real experts should retire or use STALKER as their main source of information).

On topic:
Of course the Ukrainian police uses guns, the protesters are using guns as well.

Geezus christ.
Gotta admit, this was an ingenious way to completely deprive the political opposition of any power and control they might have had left.
Nobody is going to take them serious in any way after that disaster.

Yeah, you can clearly see how that group that got completely shot up in the video was armed to the teeth with... wooden boards.

I said that the protesters had guns, I did not say that all of them had guns, and nor did I say that the Ukrainian police's actions are justified.

I see a bunch of airsoft rifles, I see one flare gun, I see one rifle that could be real, I see one uzi that could be real and I see one gun that is real as I've seen it fire in videos of the protests.
**** proof to justify using snipers that kill up to 30 folks during an agreed-upon truce. Because that's what it means when you say "of course they are using guns".
Or what about the pictures of one of those yellow armband guys with a AK firing at what looks like full auto?

And going by what media is available and so on, guns were first in use on the Berkut side of things.

Besides, I think the protesters need guns now. They're just getting shot at and can't do anything to stop it without guns. Its scary to watch.

Humlenerd 说:
That's a Flober. It's a gas gun, traumatic. You can hit a bottle with it, but not even a metal can. Can't comment on rifles. Police officers said to the Opposition former Interior Ministers that when they captured protesters with guns, they had police IDs. They're confused.
Most of the riot police guys were shot... from the back.

But the most interesting is: I've just visited russian group in russian ala Facebook thingie. It's a group founded by russians who laugh at their own citizens who worship Soviet Union, their Tsar Putin and others. They've changed their humouristic style to serious one and asked russians to support ukranians. They've posted the video I've posted above. And you know what was russian's recation, their comments? "The video is fake"; "Americans recorded this video"; "Police does the right thing. They told people to stop the protest and leave the square, protesters didn't listen, so now police has all rights to use guns"; "If you use cocktail Molotov against police, they have all rights to shoot you"; "The've betrayed the MOTHERLAND and should be shot!": "yay Berkut".

Curse them.

I just threw in a few pictures as evidence(read: evidence, not proof, evidence) and remember that the police can't wait until you shoot to decide whether it's a BB gun or a real one.
I've also read that protester in L'viv has taken weapons from the local armory now, so they might have more lethal equipment.

But once again, I write: this does not justify the Ukrainian police's actions, I am simply trying to view this from more than one perspective which basically is viewing the protesters as unarmored people being harassed by the police for no reason at all.
Remember that most of the information we get(including me) come from Reuters, which sends this information to a ****load of newspapers which then results in all of us getting the same information from 100+ secondary sources.

Edit:
Journalists claim that they've seen protesters with assault rifles. But most of them are still unarmed.

35 dead. Ministers resign massively.

Deputies are planning to enter the Parliament at 15:00 o'clock (Kiev time) to declare Yanukovich as not a president anymore.

In 2008 Russians invaded Georgia during the summer Olympic games in China. Where's the Olympic games held now, m?

Rumours say that yellow badged assholes are russians. Let them burn.

UPD: Yep, just saw one of police officers posting that yellow badged guys arrived yesterdays. A lot of snipers and russian accent. Their base is in a hotel "Ukraine". You can see this toll building right infront of Madian, behind the toll statue of a woman holding flowers. Well, it's defenitely the best point for snipers, it covers all the square including scene.

How can they live with this?

Putin declared he's ready to accept Yanukovich 'in case of some trouble'. I hope the airport will be in Smolensk, where polish president has crashed.

Ha! God is with us: the truck loaded with airborn troops while heading to Kiev has crashed

Fifty members of the police captured earlier today.
https://twitter.com/EuromaidanPR/status/436457517237796865/photo/1

this supposedly shows "Captured soldiers of Internal forces" (that's how the EuromaidanPR twitter account called it)
https://twitter.com/ashevch/status/436419339844345856/photo/1

Same as here

See, the EuromaidanPR guys probably mean well, but god damn, they need to work on believable arguments and a reporting style that at least at first glance looks neutral.
Showing a Russian military badge and saying that it was found on the Maidan means nothing without any context or preferably the Russian military fella who wore it.

Naw, it's definitely a Dragunov or PSL. Very different looking from a Vintorez.

Well it wasn't an official claim. Honestly I didn't heared it myself, simply read such thing from people on FB.

Oh, wow. Look at that. Russian information source LifeNews claims that "Men with yellow bandages - are maidan extremists that provoke police":
DzmSs.jpg

The white-red text in lover left angle says "provocation of radicals".

Interior minister Sachartschenko allowed "live ammunition" for the police in accordance with "anti-terror" laws.
That's gonna hurt.

I only hope that the executors will have at least some brains and some might doubt about using the guns. Or even try to switch sides.

Starting to look worse than what happened in Romania in the 90's.

BBC has a pretty good and comprehensive coverage of the situation:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26268620

I wonder if any Finnish "professional activists" have gone to Ukraine? Probably too dangerous when compared to G8/20 and EU high summit meetings, plus the language barrier thing.

14:54: The interior ministry says that 67 police have been captured by protesters in Kiev and to free them police "have the right to use all means allowed by law including weapons" - via BBC Monitoring.

14:50: Kommersant newspaper correspondent in Kiev Serhiy Sydorenko says that a call for compromise with protesters on the foreign ministry's Facebook page is a "mutiny" by diplomats and the statement has not been agreed with the foreign minister.

14:48: Social media users outside Kiev have been posting pictures of what they say are military transport planes preparing to land at Hostomel airfield outside the Ukrainian capital. Eyewitnesses tell the BBC they have also seen the planes - via BBC Monitoring.

Russian troops? Ukrainian troops from bases elsewhere?

Yeah, about that.

I'd recommend not watching if people being shot is not your thing.

EDIT: Slowpoke.

Regarding this video. Some people wonder where this people are moving. It happened when suddenly police (or who the hell was that) started shooting and injured some unawared men. The grpoup of people that u see on a video is moving to take the wounded.

Also, somebody wanted proofs? Here ya go:

This. People have blocked the movement of trains with army troopers.
HaTlm.jpg

Look on a left - there's even a man on a wheelchair! Good Gods, I'm proud of my people.

Let's hope all this stuff leads to a brighter future in Ukraine. You guys sure don't ***** out you deserve a good life after this.
