Ubisoft decides to **** on everyone.

A week or so ago, Ubisoft informed the public that their new DRM requires you to be constantly signed on to play, however if your internet connection drops, then you can carry on as normal.

Not anymore!

When are developers going to realise that DRM like this only sets a greater challenge to crackers and pirates?

However, if your internet connection is down and you got nothing to do you can't start the game.
Do what they wish, pirates/crackers always find a way out, excessive amounts of protection has never stopped them.

This kind of behaviour actually encourages piracy.

I mean, why pay for a game that you have to always be connected to the internet to play, when you can just be connected to the internet for a while and get it free?

Personally, I play games without internet a lot of times. I play at school, at home when the net is down, and when I travel. How the hell will I play AC2 in the plane when I have to be on the ****in' intertubes to be able to run it?

That's one of the most retarded things in a while.
Someone probably hacks that **** in a short while and after that people just pirate the game because playing the pirate is easier than actually paying for that bull****, double damage.

Why yes, yet another Hitler parody.

That pic came to my mind.

Now this is ****. I'm going to get a new computer soon, and my internet gets disconnections 2-3 times a day. So no new Ubisoft games for me.

And the pic above is true.

Ahh yes, humanity has yet again shown it is learning quickly and rapidly expanding their world while taking all of their actions into careful planning to make sure that what they do is in the best interests of the world.

Yeah, that's the thing. It's Ubi, which means I won't get to play erm ....

Hmm. Looks like the only game they've announced this year which piqued my interest was Silent Hunter V. And even that on a "assuming there's nothing else released this weekend/maybe just wait for a weekend sale" level.

Hey, I've wasted hours of my life on Far Cry 2, Dark Messiah, some Prince of Persia, Assassin's Creed 1/2, and even some other crap.

I don't see how the devs don't spot the huge logic flaw behind that kind of crap. Or is customer satisfaction slowly being thought of an unimportant ?

This one sums it up quite nicely. Truly, Ubisoft is acting in a retarded way. I've always been against all forms of DRM, and we all know this is the ****ing mother of them all.
