The 124th New York Infantry, Commonly known as the "Orange Blossoms" due to the fact that the county they came from was named "Orange County" and because they would often tie pieces of orange cloth around their neck or uniform as a form of a sash. , It was a volunteer/line infantry unit recruited and HQ'd in Southern New York State. Almost all of it's company's, A-K, were recruited from Newburgh, New York and surrounding areas, such as Goshen, or Cornwall. I personally am very proud of this specific regiment because they were recruited from my home town

HISTORY OF THE 124TH IN THE CIVIL WAR

The Orange Blossoms' first major engagement was at the Battle of Fredericksburg, in December 1862. Thomas W. Bradley, an Orange Blossom and future United States Representative, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions at the Battle of Chancellorsville in 1863. Colonel Ellis was killed at the Battle of Gettysburg, at Houck's Ridge. Three other officers and 31 enlisted men from the regiment also died during the battle.
The Orange Blossoms also took part in the Overland Campaign, taking losses in the Battle of the Wilderness, the Battle of Cold Harbor, and the Spotsylvania Court House. In June 1864 they were at the Siege of Petersburg. In 1865 they fought in the Appomattox Campaign, and were present during the Confederate surrender at the Battle of Appomattox Courthouse

How to Enlist
The 124th, as of now, is a pretty well-organized group. Most everyone gets along together, and we really like to keep things that way. Strife is at a minimum, and all arguments are very quickly settled. Because of this, we don't like to recruit willy-nilly.

We do, however, recruit selectively. This means we recruit a number of ways:
By inviting you /someone badass to the group via in-game chat since they seem pretty legit and laid-back
being a friend of a pre-existing member
personal invitation from myself/ officers.
or, on those days we do decide to recruit publicly: You can usually catch our information being posted in chat on a schnazzy recruitment message.

Training

The current training schedule is that there is none. The vast majority of people in the regiment are already in an NW regiment, which means a few things. One: Most people already know basic line drill, so it's therefor unimportant for us to train on a regular basis (although if you're new we will help you out with a private drill session). Two: Most people, by already being in an NW regiment, by extension already have a pretty limited schedule, and to add a N&S Training session to that would just put more burden to the beast's back, and lastly: most folks already are pretty good at the game, so I'd say training overall isn't needed.

Pre-Action salute. Since we find the 79th Cameron skins completely badass, we've been using them for a few days. We're breaking back into the 69th skins until the next patch though.

Oh indeedly we is! This is my pet project since school has began, so it's purely for fun and goodly times. I hope we become massive and meet only during lb's and such. I'm going to model it kinda-sorta off the 00th style of meeting only for LB's with no trainings.
