****ty ass fps, possibly bottlenecking, possibly Bob being Bob

So, title

Graphic card is gtx 760
CPU is  IntelCore i7-4790
16 GB Ram

Runs Watchdogs at lowest graphic at about 30 fps and goes down to 20 in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, also ****ty ass fps on BF4 but I have no accurate numbers, so what's the issue there?

Something's broke. Update video drivers in particular. Verify CPU/GPU temps within reasonable bounds. Do Windows update. Make sure you're not accidentally using integrated graphics instead of GPU.

Your hardware should be able to run things quite well.

The 20 fps thing in KCD was after the update and before the update I've hit 700+ fps in Far Cry 4 menu, this **** is all over the place.

Oh, if it just started to get bad after a video driver update then best bet is to revert to the previous WHQL version.

It should be listed under dxdiag.

Start > type "dxdiag" > press enter. If it mentions Nvidia, it should be correct.

To find if you have both dedicated and integrated, go to the device manager.

Start > type "device manager" > press enter. It is under display adapters.

Okay, and your temperatures are within reasonable bounds?

Less than 75 for CPU and less than 90 for GPU.

Some monitoring software options:

Play a game for a bit, 10-15 minutes, then report on their maximums. I'm going to go eat and maybe someone else can come up with ideas because I'm just about out.

Fresh Windows install is something you could try, but it's a bit costly and might not even work. Has your hardware worked properly before?

If you get like 5000 FPS in the menu of a game your GPU is doing a ton of unnecessary work so that's why temps increase a lot. It's the same if you get less frames in a demanding game, your GPU is running to it's full capacity. Had that happen in some other game where enabling Vsync dealt with ridiculous FPS on menus etc.

E: Just realized it's your CPU temps that skyrocket, not GPU. Oh well. Could be a cooling issue, thermal paste may be ****ed for example or something major with your drivers, possibly even signs of hardware breaking. Could be anything really

90C is literally going to destroy that CPU. Stop playing games until fixed. Make sure the CPU fan is blowing. If it is, you'll need to take apart the whole construct and (re)apply thermal paste.

Does your CPU and GPU usage stay reasonably low/high when doing less/more demanding things? If your CPU usage goes straight to 100% when you enter the game for example then it's probably a software issue. I really don't know much so I'm just throwing ideas in, hopefully some of it will be helpful >.<

If the CPU usage is reasonable, like 50 to 70 or 80% and temps still go to like 90 it's most certainly a cooling issue. Your fan could be bad or some problems with the thermal paste. I doubt it's a problem with your CPU breaking but can't close that out really.

Don't Intel CPUs handle heat pretty damn well though? Even if 90c is around the dangerzone? Not saying he should still keep playing games of course

A CPU that runs at 90C is dangerous regardless of the level of load. Intel reports that its maximum temp is 74C. It's throttling itself severely to prevent physical hardware damage, I'm surprised it isn't BSODing.

TCASE 74.04°C
Case Temperature is the maximum temperature allowed at the processor Integrated Heat Spreader (IHS).

Yeah, just checked. Some guy got his over 100c

I'd really check the cooler and thermalpaste, it's not too big of a job.
