Two Shield Use

I've played characters before where I've used two shields when I don't need much ranged weaponry for the opponents I faced. I'm curious as to whether there were other people who used this configuration.
One of the advantageous is that you'll become pretty much invincible to projectile fire from all sides when you're blocking and have a shield on your back. It also looks very good when you're readying a right handed strike, especially on a horse.

Yes. Havn't you had the 'hit shield on back' Thing before? Tis critical to bend over with your shield facing the enemy when reloading your crossbow.

nah, never have, i use a bow, only time i use a crossbow is when i pick one up during a battle, but still, i suppose its because no one gets the chance to shoot me in the back, glad to hear it works though

No, actually, it doesn't work quite the same. It only reduces damage, whereas a shield in the front blocks it completely (provided you have it up).

I can tell you that it doesn't work for normal troops that's for sure. Shot many in the back of the spine I have.
My experience would seem to suggest it does, since even lousily armored bandits can withstand a shot to the back from my MWWB if they have a shield slung over it.

Hmmm, time for a screenshot of it in action I think.

Masterwork War Bow?  What about the other W?

Yep, it seems to does reduce damage on normal troops, shot a bandit in the back 4 times before he died, did about 10-18 damage per shot, shot another twice in the chest - 40+ damage each.

But since I use ranged weapons whenever possible I only need 1 good shield.

I normally run with:

1x 1h sword
1x. Lance
2x Shields (or 1 shield and javelins).

It's not so much the back protection though, as the advantage two shields gives you during a siege.

I tend to roll with no shield at all except in siege attacks

Polearm
2hander cut weapon
Bow/ javelins
arrows/ club for prisoner taking
