Answer them, scum!

1) Do you play an instrument?
(How long, what instrument, why)

2) What kind of music do you prefer?
(Genre, why)

With this nifty questions I will conquer the world eventually. So you better get on my good side right now, minions.

Ok start.

I followed piano lessons for 5 years. As for the other question, metal. Black metal, heavy metal, and some of the other metal stuff.

And BTW, how many people are already trying to conquer the world here? Okin and that horsey guy? You'll have to find a solution for that. :/

I played piano for about 6-7 years. Hope to start drums soon, as guitar just didn't work for me.

I listen to all types of metal, along with folk - so things like the dropkicks go down quite well.

i used to play the flute for a short time, i got to grade two.

I am into Indy and Alternate mainly (note, eurpopean soft rock is ****) Like a bit of hip hop, more white, classic hip hop. Like a bit of country and folk, like a tiny bit of metal. But Van morrison > all

Unfortunately I haven't played any musical instrument.
And I like jazz, all of them.

I play drums, been in a few bands (never got past the bar-band stage tho). Listen to just about anything, but I prefer bands like Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age, some jam bands. And I really like Irish traditional and its more modern derivatives like Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys.

I play transversal flute (though not as often as before) and have been playing for about 10 years the stuff i play is classical music and a little bit of jazz.
I like many kinds of music.. though don't like hip hop or banda

I played the clarinet once, like, a gazillion years ago, when the California Raisins were still.. known.

I listen to many different songs, but have no true genre preferences, except that I tend to dislike songs that are trendy at the time, rather picking them up on the rebound when they've completely fallen off the music charts.

As a bonus bit of information, I have absolutely no rhythm or dancing ability, and sing like a strangled duck.

ive played bass for a year. my fav bands are green day, the strokes, and the white stripes. o yeh, and nirvana too.

I've played bass for just over a year, and sing lead vocals in a cover band. It's a cover band for now, anyway. I also played the clarinet for a couple of years, to grade 2.

New bass

I listen to quite a variety of stuff. Lately weird prog-y stuff like Yes and the Mars Volta. But also stuff like Starsailor, Audioslave (their first album anyway), the Alkaline Trio, Billy Talent, Cream, Led Zep, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix, Ocean Colour Scene, Free, Pink Floyd, Jamiroquai, Muse, Santana, Sting, and Winterville (of whom no-one will ever have heard).

Didgeridoo self taut for three yrs its a cool rythem instument that dosent demand any finge movement only lungs.

I lisyten to every gener exept most western pop younger than 15 yrs.
But i like Asian pop. The bands i am listening to moste must be
Bad religion,
AC/DC,
Ayumi Hamasaki (J-pop queen),
Lars Winnerbäck(swedish Poet singer),
Iron maiden (Brave new world is the best song).
Some strange things like Duponténz, Jonathan Coulthan and other free musik makers

Fair bit of rock, mainly alt/rock I guess (for rock that is), metal - well many types, into a little "nu-metal" such as Mudvayne and Deftones. More into the European metal, melodic death, heavy etc. Bands such as Soilwork, Children of Bodom and Opeth. Opeth are particularly good, their music is excellent all round.

And who can forget the old favourites, Tool...not to mention the Maynard spin-off, A Perfect Circle. Crap, forgot; Pantera's good.

Oh, almost forgot, been listening to a lot of Nirvana lately.

Edit: after all that! No, I don't play an instrument. Played keyboard for a year or two but showed no dedication what-so-ever.

I play the trumpet. It is about 2.5 feet long, though why you'd want to know I'm not sure.

I listen to classical, jazz, blues, Christian (though this really isn't a genre, since I only like about 1/5 of what is considered Christian music), and bits and pieces of other musical genres. Pretty much everything but very heavy metal and... that other genre where they say words to a beat and call it music.

Piano: 20 years. Classical and jazz

Also a bit of :
Congas and Bass

Thank you all for answering so far.
Why I asked this specific questions is not of your concern, however, I may inform you that I brought Russias arsenal of Nuclear Weapons under my control.
I shall shortly wipe Quebec and Austria off the map, which is vital to my plan.

I've been playing guitar since I was about 10, so that would be about 11 years now. I've been teaching guitar for about 3 years.

I've been playing drums for probably 6 or 7 years now.

I am mainly influenced by alternative indy music. One of my bands can be heard at http://www.myspace.com/thispastyear or http://www.thispastyear.net

I play a little guitar and piano. I listen to Indie, Emo(ie Hot water Music and further seems forever), Metal, Metalcore, a little hardcore/punk, a little country, and lots of pop/rock bands i suppose.
