I would really think a mix of the watered steel scimatar and balanced nomad saber would really dish out some hurt. So maybe someone might agree with two-handed fighting :)

Yes, it's been decided that there will be no dual wielding. I'd like it, but only if there was a way to have it in which the game wasn't unbalanced. Dual wielders would have a huge advantage.

I haven't seen any decision about it either, just one or two guys who claimed the general consensus was against it to convince everyone that it was the case.

I'm not sure it's very historical..? Also, I think it'd look silly and be strange to play. The biggest reason anyone would ever use a weapon in both hands would be to be able to strike at different targets, or hit a single target from different direction. I can't see that being implemented in the current combat model though, so there would be little point of being able to wield two weapons.

I thought it looked like everyone was very against it, but maybe i was wrong then.

Dual wielding is plain unrealistic, especially with two longer swords. You need to be really strong and dextruous if you want to dualwield just a sword and either a short sword or a dagger. Believe me, I tried -.-.

Yeah like if you have a Balanced Great Sword in 1 hand and then a Sword of War in the other it's kind of weird. But what if it's enabled with a watered steel scimatar and balanced nomad saber. even I can lift those two weapons.

Lifting is a single weapon one thing, waving it around is another thing.
Lifting double weapons are.. really something and just waving them around is wholly different. Using them efficiently in combat?
Well, Drizzt may do it, but in reallife most would just cut their limbs. Even two-handers or single-handers may do this. It would need ALOT of training and skill and dexterity and agility and strength to do that. I didnt try. But i guess so.

No no no nooo! Not this again. Read the past two weapon fighting threads there is A LOT of debate if it is historical/realistic or not.

Well, I voted yes, but that depends. In a face to face battle and you are strong enough and agile enough, it is better. But against an archer... hum, only if you are as good enough as the main character of that movie, I don't remeber its name but is something like "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Hidden Tiger, Crouching Dragon" or something, I can remember its name in this moment. But only if you are agile as him, you will need a good shield.

Perhaps, could be added an option, as in "Diablo II", when you use the Paladin, you can hit with the shield.

I'm all for it even if its extremely limited just so that I can enable it on a few things in my renaissance mod. It might not have been common in the medieval times, but it was pretty popular in the renaissance.

You cant wield a short sword in each hand. Fine. But you suppose you could fight with a one handed sword and a shield? Both are much more heavier you know.

Btw, its called dual wielding or two weapon fighting. Two handed suggest a greatsword or equivalent requiring 2 hands to use.
