Twilight of the Mughal empire
The mod takes place in the first half of the 18th century, during the decline of the Mughal empire, prior to the british gaining rule in India. The mod itself is not very historically accurate, as i like to take freedoms, as i dont have acces to a lot of sources and because of the games nature.
I dont plan of showing any pictures but i plan when i am finished to make a trailer for the mod.
In the mod there are six factions: Mughal Empire, Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab of Bengal, Kingdom of Mysore and Maratha Empire. I did not include the portuguese as a faction, as they had not that much of land to rule.
The mod Features have several changes.
Faction Troops
There are three types of troops irregulars, regulars and elites. Irregulars are highered in villages, they start at level 4 and can upgrade four times to level 24. They come in the following types: swordsman, spearman, archer, musketeer, lancer and mounted archer. Regulars are highered in towns, they start at level 6 and can upgrade four times to level 26. Their equipment are better than the irregulars. They come in the same types as the regulars.
Elites start at level 8 and can upgrade four times to level 28. Like regulars they are highered in towns. They come in the following types: Lancer, mounted archer, musketeer and elephant musketeer. Their equipment are better than regulars. As troops upgrade their equipment does not improve. Troops in this mod are tougher than in the vanilla version.
Army composition
As cavalry was dominating facter in India at this point in history, the armies consist mostly of cavalry. The armies include some mercenaries too. The armies in this mod are quite large.
Mercenaries
Mercenaries start at level 16 and can upgrade two times to level 26. The arab swordsmen start at level 18 and end at level 28. The same with the siddi spearmen.
Like faction troops their equipment does not improve as they upgrade. Mercenaries come in the following types: Arab swordsmen(the best swordsmen in the mod), Arab camel lancers, siddi Spearmen(best spearmen in the mod), siddi archers(best archers in the mod) (i will ad more later)
Male Nobles
Being the elite of society the male nobles have the best equipment. Except for the maratha, they are mounted on elephants and are additionaly armed with a bow.
Firearms
The mod features muskets, pistols, carbines and blunderbusses. Compared to the matchlock the flintlock are faster to reload. Pistols have the fastest reload, do the least damage and have shorter range. Blunderbusses do the most damage but have terrible accuracy and short range. Carbines are midbetween pistols and muskets.
Mounts
The mod feature donkeys, mule, ponies, horses, camels and elephant. Ponies and arabians are the fastes horses. Heavy horses are the strongest. Middle horses are in the middle. Armored horses are slowed by their armor. Camels are slower but toughter than horses. Elephants are the slowest but toughtest of them all.
Watchman, caravan guard & caravan master
Watchmen, and caravan guards, now have the same three levels like mercenaries, but they are no longer mercenaries. One can encounter all three levels. The caravan masters have been made toughter and better equipted.
