Rebellion chance frequency (2.005)

Note: Rebellion is being adjusted by the devs next patch (2.005 is the current one as I'm writing this), I'm just posting this as people have been complaining lots about it.

Back up simple_triggers.txt and find this trigger:

The 72 at the start is how many hours between chances for a rebellion to start. Decrease or increase this as you want. I don't know if this trigger contains stuff relevant to other features, try it and see.

Disable "village is being raided/been destroyed" pop-up messages" (2.005)

Make a backup of scripts.txt then open it up.

Can I request tweak: The ability to continue siege after the player is knocked unconscious?

Such a drag to automatically get this message: http://i.imgur.com/Jg5uJRM.jpg?1

Thanks for reminding me, been meaning to look at that. One of the devs told me that their retreating during sieges should depend on morale/numbers, not be automatic, but it's always seemed too unforgiving to me.

Erennuman_mb, what would you say is the min/max taken?

Disable automatic retreat on KO during sieges 2.005

Back up mission_templates.txt and find the 3 instances of this:
1.000000 4.000000 100000000.000000  1 1006 0  16 2133 2 144115188075856422 1

Change that 1006 into 2222 in each of the 3 instances.  Seemed to work fine for me, able to complete the siege allright after being KO'd. I don't know if there are any side-effects from using this, let me know if you encounter any.

Bring your horse to sieges 2.005

Back up mission_templates.txt then find this section:
mst_castle_attack_walls_ladder castle_attack_walls_ladder 2  -1
You_attack_the_walls_of_the_castle...

12 0 8320 256 16 60 0

Change that 256 to a 0.

Leave a post if you actually find a use for this . Orkney springs to mind as a possibility.

Kraggrim you are a sexy beast! Quick question about modifing the secondary color that is used for shields, which file determines it? For example if I pick the yellow banner with a red raven, the shields will be yellow. How do I make the yellow a different color?

I basically want to fix these issues, especially example 2.

Change frequency of landing-point generation

Possibly a solution if you experience noticeable stuttering when sailing on the world map. Make a backup of you triggers.txt (found in your VC module folder) and then find this bit:
0.200000 0.000000 0.000000  26 2124 1 100 541 3 648518346341351424 296 1 1625 2 1 648518346341351424 1625 2 2 648518346341351879 710 3 1224979098644774912 1 2 32 2 1224979098644774912 400 1628 3 2 1 4 1626 2 648518346341351425 2 1608 2 1224979098644774913 648518346341351425 2147483679 2 1224979098644774913 0 2147483679 2 1224979098644774913 1 2147483679 2 1224979098644774913 7 2147483679 2 1224979098644774913 8 2133 2 1224979098644774914 0 6 3 1224979098644774915 648518346341351445 648518346341351474 541 3 1224979098644774915 241 1 2281 3 1224979098644774916 648518346341351425 1224979098644774915 2147483678 2 1224979098644774916 5 2133 2 1224979098644774914 1 3 0 6 3 1224979098644774917 648518346341351821 648518346341351838 2281 3 1224979098644774916 648518346341351425 1224979098644774917 2147483678 2 1224979098644774916 5 2133 2 1224979098644774914 1 3 0 31 2 1224979098644774914 0  5 4 0 1625 2 1 648518346341351425 1 2 936748722493063207 1 1626 2 648518346341351879 2 3 0

Change that 0.200000 at the start to something else, higher means less frequent.

NOTE: Remember you can generate a landing point manually by right clicking on your party, generally a more efficient method anyway.

reiksmarshal, I don't have a clue how to start that one. I don't even know if it's an issue with the code files or the banner images. Considering it's being fixed next patch you're probably better just waiting for that, sorry dude.

Ah, I see.  I guess it's maybe done by hex code like the colour of messages:
display_message                    = 1106  # (display_message, <string_id>,[hex_colour_code]),
                                            # Display a string message using provided color (hex-coded 0xRRGGBB).

You could try to work out the hex colour code of the thing you want to replace, then search through the files for it maybe. Dunno how to go about doing that though.

Thank you for all the great tweaks! I was wondering if ones that are labeled for 1.04 etc work for 2.005? some things seem like they should, since they are so small, but don't want to mess with things I don't understand.

Also is it possible to eliminate the morale drop from sailing over night? I get it, but having to land for morale is annoying.

For the 1.04/2.0 ones, keep backups and give it  try. If it seems like it should work then I'd say it probably will, most of the stuff these are affecting probably hasn't been radically overhauled for Reforged. If it works as-is then let me know and I'll update the header, if it needed to be adapted then post a wee guide to how you did it for others to use .

I'll add the night sailing morale drop to my list.

reiksmarshal, if you want to modify the colour used on painted shields for a particular banner then count through the banners (with the first one being 0) on the selection screen and note down the number of the one you want to change. Then open scripts.txt and find initialize_banner_info -1. In that section you'll find a bunch of little sections that look like this:
500 3 360287970189640843 0 4281170740

Count through them to find the one for your banner (the first one is 0, they should match up I think) and the change the red number to 4200000000. This probably isn't the correct formatting but it seemed to work anyway when I tried it.

This will work on a new game. If you want to do it on an existing game then you'll have to use the save editor to modify the troop called #1163(trp_banner_background_color_array {!}banner_background_color_array) . Its slots should match up to the red numbers mentioned above, you can edit them.

You're welcome reiksmarshall,  a helpful person pointed me in the right direction which made it much easier .

Morale loss from crossing the ocean and spending the night at sea (2.010)
