Tweak request: Is there a way to remove relation drop with a lord when you refuse their task? I'm especially thinking of the request to pillage a monastery. I just hate that quest!

Probably change this this bit on conversation.txt to 0:

Can we increase the frequency of lords giving us tasks? Because I'm trying to improve my relation and for that I need tasks, I try to get it by saving, asking and quitting without saving but whenever I manage to get one it's plunder monastery quest. :sad:
 
Mercenary contract pay increase (2.005)

If you want the pay for your mercenary contract to be closer to your troop wages then backup presentations.txt and find prsnt_budget_report. Under that find this section:

Change that 2108 to 2107.  This will give you 4 times what you usually get, and by my estimate be fairly close to your total troop wages (dependent on you army composition and leadership skill). Alternatively you can change the 2 to a 1 and you should get double what you would normally get.

Hi all,

New to the forum and definitely need to start out with a HUGE thanks to all contributors to this thread.
Would not be playing VC without many of the tweaks listed, for it's simply too punnishing for my taste
(realism often does not translate into fun gameplay very well, so tweaks/cheats are called for).

I'm not yet very far into VC, but for now one thing bugs me still: there are several types of long axes in
VC that can be used as either 1-H or 2-H, but cannot be used on horseback. They're basicly 'bastard axes'
and I fail to see the logic behind this inability to use those while mounted.

I'm not a big fan of swords, I prefer axes, the ones that can be used while mounted are no real option:
try hitting that spearman poking at your favorite horse while using a short axe that has 60 reach ....
need I say more?

So the big question is, does anyone know how to remove the 'canot be used on horseback' restriction?

To remove the money loss turn the red numbers to 0. To remove the morale loss turn the blue numbers to 0.

There are several instances of each number, so you have to make sure you change the correct one. For instance the 144115188075856105 you want to change is the second one in that block.


erennuman_mb, when you have those "2133 2 1224979098644774939 " or "2133 2 122497909864477493 " with a number after it, it looks like  that number after it is the waiting period in days for a quest. They probably line up in the same order as in quests.txt (maybe).  I'm not really sure myself.

Backup your itemkinds1 file and then overwrite/merge the files/folders. Then open your module.ini file and find "load_mod_resource = vc_animals" (or whatever is at the bottom of the load resources list) and add "load_mod_resource = DarkAgesKrag" underneath it.

If you'd rather use the models for other items then don't copy over the itemkinds1 file, you can easily alter the mesh names within it.

Original models from Gothic Knight's OSP, apart from the belt-strap which is by BratvurstLenny (and is not OSP).

kraggrim do you know how to install gothic knight's models from his post? He made a new plain dane axe model, but I've no idea how to install that one.
 
kaiser, download his pack and place the brf in the resource folder and the textures in the tuxtures folder. Backup your itemkinds1 file and then rename the mesh of the axe to daneaxe1, eg thiss bit:

Thanks bud, I'll give it a try.

Personally I prefer the plainer looking model. Swords and armour are already ornate looking, so having a plain 'working' dane axe is awesome  :cool:
 
Ok so your directions worked :eek:

However it was interesting to see the ornate dane axe textures already in the textures folder for VC. For the plain dane axe model the textures are the files called daneaxe rather than daneaxe2.
 
I know the tweak is "old" but hopefully you will still be able to help me out. With the new 2.010 version I've started a new sandbox game with a couple of tweaks from this glorious thread and most of them are brilliant and really helps making an already great game better :smile: but enough of the compliments
The tweak which increases the loot from raiding churches is to me difficult to tweak. The numbers given in the post is not something Im able to find in the txt file. Using notepad++ to search for the correct section but the numbers needed to tweak is nowhere to be found. Any help would be appreciated :smile:

It normally gives a random amount between 100 and (looting skill x  65 +100).  Change that 65 to a higher/lower number to have your reward upper limit still dependent on looting skill.

You can also manually set it by altering this: 100 1224979098644774917. The 100 is the lowest possible amount and the other one is the ID for (looting skill x  65 +100).  You can just change these to a set number if you want, so it would look like:
2136 3 1224979098644774918 500 1000 2108
And you would always get between 500 and 1000 silver, with looting skill having no effect.


If the game updates and you can't find the correct bit then use a program called Notepad++ to open the file. Press ctrl+f then select 'Regular expression' at the bottom of the search window, then search for:
(2136 3 12249790986447[0-9]{5} )(100)( )(12249790986447[0-9]{5})
It should bring up the correct bit.



kaiser, my little pack was  just a trimmed down and tweaked version of Gothic Knights one, that's why there will be duplicate files. I just used the ornate dane axe since it was labeled 2 so I presumed it was the most recent version.
