TweakMB (With Fire & Sword support!) [v5.09; updated 12.29.13]

Users who are viewing this thread

Well I found this nugget buried in the QQ/QA thread:

http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,188133.msg4513965.html#msg4513965

The spoilered instructions still work - the number strings have changed, but just search for 'dlga_companion_quitting_persuasion:close_window' to find the right one and change the number after -2 to 1. Gives persuasion to keep companions with you a 100% chance of working.

It is actually the second 1025 that you have to edit to 31. Should look something like this.

1.000000  100 2320 2 51 216172782113788000 4 0 32 2 144115188075855886 0 31 2 144115188075856165 0 4 0 2147483758 1 144115188075855886 2147483679 2 144115188075856288 1 2320 2 51 216172782113788005 2133 2 144115188075857047 151 2133 2 144115188075856166 0 1025 2 144115188075855886 -1 5 0 500 3 144115188075855886 152 8 2133 2 144115188075855886 0 3 0 5 0 32 2 144115188075855884 0 31 2 144115188075856165 0 4 0 110 1 144115188075855884 2147483679 2 144115188075856288 1 2320 2 51 216172782113788001 2133 2 144115188075856166 0 31 2 144115188075855884 -1 5 0 2133 2 144115188075855884 0 3 0 5 0 32 2 144115188075855964 0 31 2 144115188075856165 0 4 0 110 1 144115188075855964 2147483679 2 144115188075856288 1 2320 2 51 216172782113788002 2133 2 144115188075857047 61 2133 2 144115188075856166 0 1025 2 144115188075855964 -1 5 0 2133 2 144115188075855964 0 3 0 5 0

Here's your answer to have all of the companions with none of them leaving, no matter how much they hate you or the other companions.

Awesome tool

Can the faction colours not be re-coloured if you continue a native saved game? I tried starting a new one and it worked, but continuing a saved game doesn't

Even better, with the edit I posted they still like to whine constantly. That'll shut them up and make them fall in line.

Hey, Anddyi, thanks for taking the time to post that for everyone. I had it work for me (Saved the game just before a member defected, kept reloading and having them leave, changed the value you told us to and it never even came up again) however now Kaverra has decided to leave, even when I try to persuade her not to.

So, do I change all 1025 values to 31, or just the first one I come across? That's the one I changed.

Yeah I actually meant to post and say that the fix is apparently a bit of a hit 'n miss - while the amount of whining has lessened, it still comes up every now and then. Until TweakMB gets updated, you can try that fix I posted earlier as a temporary workaround. They'll still nag and nag and nag about how miserable they are, but the fix makes it so that your persuasion attempt to make them stay always has a 100% chance of succeeding.

Yeah my bad it's the second 1025 that you change to 31, I made a tiny mistake and edited both to 31 lol  fixed now though. This fix is for Companions_PreventCompanionsFromLeaving tweak, so they shouldn't even mention it at all.

Hm. I might have found a bug. I get an error whenever my companion Lethaldrian tries to come back to the party after training my knighthood troops.

The error is something to the effect of Sorry - just talking to myself (ERROR - trigged by an NPC to join party)

Yup. Caused by this. Edited it back to 1025 and it's fine, he joined back up no problem.

Did it cause him from not rejoining the party? If it didn't its not a problem, maybe you edited the first 1025?

Edit: I tested it and it works fine, I've no idea what you did to mess it up.

I went to try the change that makes companions never leave but the message still came up for kaverra, she wanted to leave (in the PoP3 mod) but I persuaded her to stay.

So either I did it wrong, or the messages will still come up after this change, they just will never leave.

Then again I don't quite understand what it is I am doing either.

Place the old simple_triggers in the file and then re-edit it so that it is the second 1025 that you find, in the spot suggested. Perhaps you used the first 1025? Make sure you use the backup because the first 1025 should stay as 1025 as to not cause any other problems.

I am fairly curtain you still get the conversation with the NPC even if you have edited it so they can't leave, there is a mod where this is the case but the author of that mod changed the "persuasion" text to "we hang deserters around here" or some such.

My advice would be to save often so that if your modification didn't work then you don't have far to go back, mind you this is sound advice regardless.

hi there first of all good jb with this tool second i have 1 question

is there any chance to add Ligth and Darkness Heroes of Calradia support in the future?

Thank you

It's the same as 3.6. So what drugs are you taking? I'd assume you didn't reedit it when you installed your 3.61 patch which clearly has a simple_triggers.txt in it that would overwrite what you did.

Well, all I know is my companions are leaving. And I checked to make sure the numbers were still the same as to what I changed it to before.

suppose Ill delete the file and reinstall it.

Well when the full patch is out I'll download it and check, till then not my problem. You did change it second 1025 to 31 on line 99 right? Or what my example showed after you downloaded and installed the new patch right?
