I never really understood what all the hubbub was about either; I didn't watch it until it came out on vid.  I was working a very high-pressure, politically sensitive job at that point so I just couldn't afford the time for such luxuries.

Toy Story is just one of those genuinely good movies that can be enjoyed by a wide range of people. Also, the computer animation was very innovative for a feature film in its day.

I could say the same for Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, except the graphics alone didn't help the aweful writing and the other looming oversights of the director.

Spirits Within came out like 6 years after Toy Story. But you're right, good visuals alone do not make a good movie. Toy Story thankfully, had a good story, and a great musical score that fit the mood of the movie.

I thought TS referred to Time Splitters, so I got all excited, maybe they were actually releasing the fourth one. Then I realized it said TS3, and you were talking about Toy Story. That said, there is no way this one is as entertaining as the original Toy Story. Sequels rarely work out like that.
