Trouble Recruiting Lords

Anyone have any tips on how you recruit lords into your faction?

I've been trying for 650 days now to recruit enemy lords but it just won't happen. The lord/s I am trying to recruit are devoted to me. I have 252 honor, 24k renown, 57 RTR, 6 Persuasion and 23 fiefs. But I can never get any response from them other than "my king is the best"

That just seems kind of weird in context of their faction being dominated and their king residing in my prison. Seems like these lords would praise their king even if he threw himself on his own sword.

I've purposefully kept my RTR relatively low as a means to instigate/maintain conflict and to a lesser extent a roleplaying tool to illustrate an illegitimate claim. Would I be correct to assume that is the only reason I cannot recruit?

Well apparently I'm an idiot. Been away from the game so long I had forgot there was the capture method to recruit, which is for my current circumstance, much more reliable.

Also made a mistake in my overview. I read 650 days but it was actually 1650, now 1730. All that time with only one lord. So long I can't even recall how I got the only lord I have lol.

Fierdsvain and Ravernstern gone. D'shsar now resembling the Mongol invasion. Empire hopelessly clinging for life around their last fort. The ebb and flow of defections weren't kind to them at all, as was the plague of Eyegrim at the head of 5000 undead. Thousands of lost souls undeniably pulled from the flesh of Ethos alone.

In the twilight hours I prepare infrastructure of new expendable fiefs for a few honourable men who will hold against the impending blight. Great satisfaction is taken in having optimal operations set and chests loaded with gold. Only the chosen will make it to the promised land of Artemis Prime.
