Trouble Getting Vassals to Sign Up

Im at day 427 in my campaign. I have 60 RTR, 2100 reknown, 130+ honor rating. I sent my companions on spy missions to check out the stability of the other factions and most are 20% disgruntled and 40% restless. I did a bum rush against the swadians and conquered 4 castles and 2 cities. I appointed my wife as the chief minister. I have assigned all the lands I have conquered so far to nobody because I do not want to make my companions vassals.

I have literally spent almost 150 days as my own kingdom and not ONE goddamn lord wants to come over to my side. When I try to recruit people I make sure I have 60+ relations with them and they have a negative rating with their king. They admit I have superior strength in arms and love my company, but nobody turns coat.

Also, King Harulus and all his wisdom has lost probably 40,000 troops trying to seige Suno and the little bastard still DOES NOT want peace. Making your own kingdom is kinda pointless.

Well have u looked at ur capital? in my capital i founded lords who just suddenly was there, and if they show up u can probably say that u will accept them or not accept them as ur vassal.

Lol. Check where your court resides. As the other guy said, you probably have a half dozen nobles there.

My first large kingdom took a fair while to get started... I only had a few lords turn to me, and once i eliminated the kergits I started having lords fighting to get into my court. All I can say is keep trying and checking your court. About 80% of my lords I recruited from my court. My first 3 came to me rather than me trying to recruit them.

If all else fails, pick off their lands and make them angry at their king for not giving them land.

Ps. make sure to give them a reason they actually care about when trying to get them to turn. Someone who wants land doesn't give a rat about the commoners rights for instance.

All the previous advice is good, but I hink the first Lord is the hardest. I was about the same as you and really could not expand further without another Lord, so I set off and saved before asking a Lord, then went through the list, and if no go on to the next in line, (in order of relations if possible), until bingo I got one. Some Lords are very difficult, Lord Grainward was eventually on his own, no army, all the castles and Towns gone, but I had made peace with Swadia after taking the last Town, which is why I suppose the Kingdom still existed. I asked him twice more after meeting him all alone, seemed to be watching me looking forlorn, and he capitulated and joined my gang, that made about 10 offers altogether to him, and the relationship was in the sixties!

well then try to get some more right to rule i got 99 and i could have more i would probably have alot more than now. that should help too, otherwise u can try make some vassals, even though u dont want too, but that might help on ur reputation with military strength, allthough u might have enough.

When I try to recruit lords they always say I have good military strength. I have like 200 top tier troops garrisoned in each spot lol.
