Trouble becoming vassal in 0.951?

I have over 190 renown and have yet to receive an offer to become anyone's vassal.  Lords greet me saying they have heard of me and are glad to meet me etc, I have positive relations with the king of the faction I have been working, but still no offers.  Anyone else having difficulty?

The only unusual thing is that at one point I discussed taking up the cause of the claimant to Swadia, but then chose to opt out from signing up.  Maybe I've been flagged in some way as committed to the Swadian rebels?

As long as you didn't swear fealty, that won't be a problem... why are you waiting for an offer though?  I think it is somewhat random, so you might need to wait a long while before the next kingdom approaches you.  Why not just go offer yourself?

It seems to be that, after getting a certain amount of respect with the lords, you have to be drafted into the army for 3 months in order to get lordy things. So far, I've gotten a banner, but I haven't gone all the way through to see if you get a fief.

Yes, you'll get the fief eventually after serving in the army. Is the offer system even still there? I asked for my last one at any rate and after being turned down a lot he eventually gave it to me.

you have to have 160 renown to be surely accepted as vassals with the offer of a fief...just ask the king of the faction

I asked the Vaegir king when my renown was at about 130ish, and he denied me. A few levels later, when my renown was pushing 190, he swallowed his pride and asked me again. Maybe fortune just favors the bold?
