i like to set up my shield wall of crossbowman in the front and a shield wall of infantry behind them so while my archers shoot if the enemy gets close i can send the infantry from behind to the front. now my issue is when the enemy cav comes rushing in at the start, my men are all facing the enemy blob comeing towards us but the moment cav hits they all turn 45 degrees in their formation so now instead of a wall facing the enemy they are now a collumn and i have to manually redirect each troop tree sepeartely to face the direction of the enemy infantry but they are so far out of formation that by the time they reform up the enemy is here and i had no time for my archers to shoot them cause my archers were shooting at like 5 cav running around behind us.
the only solution i came up with is sending my cav to rush as well so that the cav meet eachother in the middle so my men stay in formation. why is the AI so dumb? why cant they just stay facing the direction i told them to face? i didnt tell them to turn the shield wall 45 degrees to face 4 cav while an army of 200 is comeing the other way.
