Troops keep switching ranged weapons idling before battle??

I modified my troops to have certain equipment, and now when I go into a battle they keep switching between the throwing spear and javelin constantly while idling waiting for the enemy to come.
I just want them to use the javelins to throw, the spear to use, and the sword as a backup weapon

any help would be greatly appreciated
