The more i think about it the more i'am convinced - it is realistic ! Let us roleplay: They weren't cautious enough, didn't know terrain well, rode with revange on their minds (pick one from above),... didn't spot the landslide.. and they fell. Player may certainly do the same thing...so should we place invisible barierrs to prevent it from happening - don't think so.

I like it. That's legit... until it happens right outside one of your own castles or towns. Also, this has happened to me many times. Every single time it happens, the cavalry are only injured. So none of my Soldiers have actually ever permanently died because of this wonky deployment bug. I've actually come to enjoy it. I kind of just look over there at the cliff and let them do their thing while I wait for the enemy to come. Some of them survive and join the fight. The best part is that the injured ones do not show up as wounded after the battle is over. It's as if it never happened. So, other than you don't get to use those troops in that exact fight, it has no affect otherwise. Still needs to be fixed though. Hopefully they're working on it. This issue has been reported many times. I'm sure they're working on it.

Never happened to me and @lolasik011 never mentioned if it happens during deployment phase... It wasn't that clear situation shown on the pictures. They could have done it during galloping... This was my initial thought.

If this is trully a deployment bug then it is unacceptable, requires fixing and I need to find some mountain bandits to see on my own eyes

It occurs for me on the mountain pass battle map generally. And it is immediate. As soon as you transition to the battle map you'll hear a bunch of horses winnie. And you'll be like 'what the hell is wrong with those horses. You'll probably be in the middle of putting your infantry in shield wall or spacing out your archers or whatever you do. But swivel your head around and you'll see a bunch of horses suiciding themselves off a cliff. I've learned that I can save some of them by pushing F1+F6 to hold their ground. Then they don't move. But after I realized they only get wounded, but don't show up as wounded after the battle, I stopped caring. Sometimes for fun I order them to a position which I know will cause ALL of them to jump off the cliff. It's like a little horsie waterfall.

I tried three times but even though i am in the Vlandian Mountains - battlefiled was on plain valley... Hope to see it some day before they patch it.

Go into the rocky terrain in Battania. Also, make sure you have regular cavalry and HAs. If you don't have actual HAs, assign some regular cavalry to the IV formation. I don't think it has ever happened to me with just cavalry. It always seems to happen to my horse archers who always from up to my right. They are the ones this happens to.

I have an party of about 250. More than half of them are horse soldiers. We engaged a Khuzait party in a mountain pass. As soon as I saw the terrain was a mountain pass, I started recording a video, because the chances were high that some of my cavalry or horse archers will be jumping off a cliff. And they did. The last rider and his horse even died.

The mountain pass has cliffs on both sides of a narrow valley, and your party is on one end of the valley, while the enemy is on the other side. The game always arrays my units in a long line perpendicular to the direction of the enemy. Horse units are always on the left and right ends of this line, so horse units will always end up on top of both cliffs if there are enough units in your party.
In Mount and Blade (Warband), all the units are bunched together at the start of the battle, instead of being spread out in a long line. The units then spread out from there to make up their battle formation. Perhaps this is something to consider doing in Bannerlord.

I have been informed that this issue is fixed on our development branch and the fix will be implemented with the upcoming patches. Thanks for reporting!
