Troop Quarters Please.

I'm actually more than a little shocked this is not in the game... Or am I so blind I've completely overlooked this feature?

The ability to partition your party and leave a portion of your troops on the map while advancing on a smaller more mobile force was an absolute game changer in mods likeViking Conquest and AWoIaF. I'm astonished that this isn't in the game. Will it eventually be implemented?

If not... Please implement it.

I'm not positive how you mean. You mean like detachments? This would actually be a very welcome feature... Sending a group of cavalry to scout the woodlands before you let the caravan you're guarding go through, for example.

I was thinking of this myself the other day, having your own personal hideout or place to stash soldiers for awhile that doesn't require you to take your own castle/city again would be excellent. My favorite part of Viking conquest was being able to live on the lam as some dirty raider, thanks to the hideout mechanic.

No, but that's not a bad idea. I'm talking about the ability to reduce your party size without permanently dismissing your soldiers or leaving them in a fief. Troop quarters is a feature in some mods that allows the player to leave a certain number of men in place anywhere on the map.

Let's say you're far from your fief on a campaign, or you don't own a fief and have a force of 100 men. Let's say there is an enemy force wreaking havoc but is smaller and faster than you with your 100 men. Troop quarters allows you to essentially make camp and put soldiers there reducing your party size and thus increasing your speed all the while keeping your men safe and sound for retrieval after you've taken care of business.

I'm sure they will implement it as well as the hideout mechanic. There seems to be a lot of intention put into the gameplay mechanics that allow you to live as a criminal (the gang wars, the high tier bandit troop trees, the civilian weapons thing, the Merry Men perk, etc.), which will be very cool if they ever see the light of day.

I was hoping the make party option would do this, but they either roam around or stick to you like glue if an army, can't tell them "you stay here with slow units while I kill all the steppe bandits".

Being able to make a little camp somewhere would do wonders for training soldiers too. I don't need to be slowed down by 50 Mercenary Swordsmen when I'm trying to grind some peasants into crossbows.

Maybe for balance reasons, it can be a clan option that requires a companion administrator. Ostensibly it would function like a companion party, however it would not move nor recruit/engage (But defend itself if engaged)

A feature of Viking Conquest DLC was that you could create a "Stronghold" or hideout esque camp site. Which you could leave men behind to Train, hang out for half pay, and so forth. You could also upgrade it with various stuff, like a blacksmith to allow shopping etc. Which made crossing the English Channel less of a bother.

You could buy a relatively cheap boat, and Ferry men over 20-30 at a time, instead of waiting for a Giant Fleet to bring an army.

No. This right here that you are describing is the refuge - which requires tools to build and can only store up to a max of 250 men. I'm talking about troop quarters that can be set up anywhere without any tools and can hold an unlimited amount of troops. It's basically like setting up camp in the original War Band but with a portion of your troops not your whole force.

Same concept though, minus the Troop max count and wording.

Any kind of camp feature like this would be really welcome.

Imagine if it worked in tiers where the benefits and the cost of a "camp" would rise for each tier

tier 1 - A simple camp to leave troops behind so you can catch the pesky bandits
tier 2 - A semi-permanent outpost where your men gain the healing benefits of staying in a town ect.
tier 3 - A fort that not only grants you the passive benefits of a town but also a fair amount of protection and perhaps 1-2 slots recruitment npcs.

If each lord can only have one "camp" at a time it wouldnt flood the map or anything and I tihnk it'd add a lot to the game
