Troop hiring suggestion: Manhunters in Zendar

Manhunters can be quite a nice addition to your forces - especially when they level up to the higher levels of slaving - but at present the only way to get them is to rescue them from enemies who've taken them prisoner. I think it would be good if you could hire a very few manhunters from Zendar - they'd be the rarest of troop types there, fewer in number than watchmen, for instance.

This would be a boost to slaving-oriented characters in the early game (as the manhunter line uses only blunt weapons) and would make sense in the gameworld, as all the manhunters originate from Zendar anyway.
 
I'd like it if in Zendar you could hire Manhunters, peasant women, and other such units. It would make it a sort of safe haven that you'd return to more often.
 
I first expected townsman and watchman to turn into manhunters, since they seem to start in Zendar, but they turn into caravan guards -> mercenary -> hired blade. Maybe townsmen should eventually become manhunters instead of mercenaries or hired blades.
 
My explaination: They should have their own line of development. They definately shouldn't become swadian after coming from a neutral city.
 
It would still kick ass to hire them, i for one wouldnt mind having an army of men who actually TAKE prisoners, rather than kill em all. Of course they would be useless for anything other than river pirates, forest and mountian bandits, if you try to take sea raiders with them, they would just be kill form afar with javelins and frasiscas in thier heads
 
Mechstra, you talk as if manhunters had their own line of development, but when I tried them out, they leveled up into Swadian militiamen. Explanation?

In the latest version, Manhunters level up into Slave Drivers, then Slave Hunters, then Slave Crushers.
 
oh cool I didn't know that either :)

I think you should be able to get manhunters from slave traders (1 in zendar and 1 in salt mine).

It'd also make your life a lot easier if you needed to go collect some enemy knights or footmen or what not.

Actually adding a slavers faction is planned but I don't want to resume work on content until mod-building tools are finished.

So, as a temporary work-around I am going add the slavers path as an alternative upgrade for townsmen. I hope that will work for now. :wink:
